Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself.

I love the greek myths I always have. I love the idea of these books being based around greek mythology. I did run into a few things I didn't like about it however. There seems to be all plot and almost no story. this does improve some as the series unfolds. Because of this untill about the end of book 3 I didnt connect or care about any of the main characters. But I found this is a great audiobook to put on when I am busy and just want background noise but dont want to pay to much attention. My biggest problem is I really hate the narrator. Why do all the characters sount like they are either stoners or dead beat surfers? yeah there isnt much difference and niether are the voices. Get someone else to read these and I probably would have enjoyed them alot better. I am tempted to pick up the books and read them to see if most of my dislike is based around Jesse Bernstein and not Rick Riordan.

I would recommend these books to anyone getting them for kids who have already listened to harry potter half a dozen times. For adults looking for something more light hearted these books are ok but once again beware the bad stoner voices and loack of a sub story.

In a world where Magic and Science, offer their wares and compete for the almighty dollar, under the surface Satan uses his influence draw people to evil so he can claim their souls. The personification of evil is killed in the line of duty and his predecessor must now learn to be the new Grim Reaper and avoid the influence and out right control of Satan.

I thought this book was a lot of fun and it was a really cool concept. the performance was good. I enjoyed most of the series but this one was by far my favorite.

"My name is Kvothe. I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep...."

I have become a great fan of fantasy reading and listening to great fantasy stories like Lord of the Rings and Song of ice and fire. I would place this story up there among my favorite fantasy titles. I was Drawn to the characters and found myself caring for them. I would celebrate at their triumphs and mourn for their losses. The plot was great and the story even better. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys fantasy stories.

    Violance, Vampires, and Guns

Who was your favorite character and why?

Edward, Edward was a complete bad ass.

What does Kimberly Alexis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The performance was ok. but the story is great.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I wanted to listen to it straight through but sleeping gets in the way of things like that.

    Any additional comments?

This is a great series for the first 6 or 7 books but then they just kinda go down hill from there.

They were just kids when they stumbled upon the horror of their hometown. Now, as adults, none of them can withstand the force that has drawn them all back to Derry, Maine, to face the nightmare without end, and the evil without a name.

    Overall

King's best work in my opinion. This is the story of childhood. the story of the friends we have as children and the fears we have as children, but this is also the story of Evil. What if there really is something to fear in the dark what if something does go bump in the night? What if it doesnt go away just because we grow up? 7 friends face an unspeaker evil in thier childhood. They face what Haunts the Town of Derry. They see the true face of IT and then have to face it again as adults.
This book has stuck with me more then any other book I have ever read. This book has haunted my dreams. For weeks after reading this book for the first time my dreams would return to the thoughts and images this book brought me. I would long for the friendship the characters shared and I tremble at the horrors they faced. To this day all my nightmares flow into a Clown with silver dollar eyes, razor teeth and pom pom buttons
