Great characters, stories and performance. A little dark but very captivating. I feel drawn into this series, can't wait for more.

I love Kresley Cole's books. The characters, the fantasy, it's all there. In this book, the heroine and the unlikely hero, who is also a villain, have enough drama in their lives and they are aided and abetted by a bunch of other characters who are fascinating in themselves. It's a good read.

This book is the denouement to Rush's and Blair's story; everything is tidied up and finished as far as they're concerned. The rest is all about introducing new characters and love interests for existing characters which are likely to flow into separate books.

She is only nineteen. She is his new stepfather’s daughter. She is still nave and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother. But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.

This is a cliched story but then so are most romance novels, what sets each apart are the characters and story twists. This book has characters which capture your interest and emotion (including ones you want to kill) and a story you want to hear or read. But I wonder at the author's choice of name for the lead male character, did she not think about how the sex scenes would read - "oh Rush, please rush, yes, yes Rush..."

What would you give up for everything? Tristan Stone was powerful, commanding, and sex incarnate. And he wore it all so well. From the moment his mesmerizing gaze met mine, I had no choice but surrender to everything he was. His power. His decadence. His passion. He was all I never knew I needed. He wanted to possess me, and I wanted to be his everything. All I had to do was accept what he offered. But everything has a price.

The contract by which Tristan seeks to bind Nina seems lame; a shade of that which is the centrepiece of that other book, you know the one. More surprisingly, she falls for it. Fortunately the plot redeems itself as it develops into an interesting and deeper story as the characters develop. You need to wait for the next volume to find out the full story.

Everyone in Rosemary Beach thinks they know how Rush Finlay and Blaire Wynn fell in love. But Rush is back to tell his side of the story... Rush has earned every bit of his bad-boy reputation. The three-story beach house, luxury car, and line of girls begging for time between his sheets are the envy of every guy in Rosemary Beach, and Rush handles it all with the laid-back cool of a rock star’s son. All he needs are his best friend, Grant, and his sister, Nan.

    Story

I guess I can understand that sometimes readers want to hear more from a character or perhaps don't want to let go but I don't really see the point of this book. It re-tells a story already told, word for word almost, from the male lead character's point of view. The book does not really provide any insight into the character or provide any depth or explanation to the story (which is really not that complex to require any explanation). What's more the the story in each of the other books in the series is told through multiple viewpoints, that is different chapters for each of the 2 main characters telling their story. So why do we need another book dedicated to Rush? Is it a money spinner?

Wealthier and more powerful than most men his age, Tristan Stone merely has to give voice to his desires and whatever he wants is his. Money has given him the ability to say nothing and no one is beyond his reach. Except for Nina. Stripped of her memory after an accident, she doesn't remember the man who loves her. Now he must find a way to show her why she fell in love with him, but the past is always just a step behind, threatening to take her away forever.

    Story

As you'd expect from a sequel, the story continues where the first left off. However, unlike other series where each book tends to be just another episode with melodrama and pages of angst to act as page fillers, this one actually adds depth. Personally I think this book is better than the first and I almost didn't buy it because I thought it would be one of those where the same story is retold from another viewpoint. Surprisingly, what I found is that the plot that was sketched out in the first book thickens as Tristan finds out the extent of his family's wrong doings and his difficulty in coping with that and the effect that it has on his tenuous relationship with Nina. The only disappointing thing is that the story does not end and we have to wait for another volume (hopefully not more) to get our happy ending.

Danika hasn't had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has never helped make it easier. One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given. She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise.

I reviewed the second book before this one and got the 2 the wrong way around. I wish that the next in the series had been published so that I could have read it right away as I did with the second book. This is a great series, very unpredictable and I can't wait to see how it all works out.

Their love had the power of a runaway freight train, and the potential to be just as destructive. The tempestuous sequel to Bad Things picks up where the first book left off. Reeling from a profound loss, Tristan and Danika struggle to pick up the pieces and build a life together, but the hard habits of a lifetime are not so easy to escape. Rock Bottom takes us on a dual point of view journey through addiction and desire, through love and agony, and answers the question we've been asking since these characters were introduced in Grounded.

This is a romance that does not strictly follow the formula for romantic story writing; it does not have the fairy tale ending for starters. It is captivating and unpredictable and sets the scene for the sequel which I read straight after this one and can't wait for more.

Being confronted on the beach by a sexy stranger wasn't part of Natalie Conner's plans for a peaceful morning taking photos. And why on earth would he think she's taking pictures of him, anyway? Who is he? One thing’s for sure, he’s hot, and incredibly romantic, feeding Natalie’s wounded soul.

    Any additional comments?

The performance made this book more palatable. The characters are likeable but the story lacks oomph; nothing much happens. A little disappointing, plot complexity gave way to sappy, repetitive and cliched dialogue.
