The inspiration for the hit television series Medium, Allison DuBois now brings listeners into her psychic experiences in We Are Their Heaven. Recalling her communication with spirits who have touched her over the years, she reveals that the dead are trying to reach their loved ones all the time, not because they're bound to us, but because we are their happiness, we are their heaven.

    Geff says: "The real thing"
    "Very good book"
    Overall

This was a very comforting book for those of us who have lost someone close. My only complaint is the author narrates very slowly and without much expression in her voice. Otherwise, I fully recommened this book.

Heralded as an instant classic of fantasy literature, Maguire has written a wonderfully imaginative retelling of The Wizard of Oz told from the Wicked Witch's point of view. More than just a fairy tale for adults, Wicked is a meditation on the nature of good and evil.

Kathleen says: "It's not easy being green"
    "Great book to listen to"
    Overall

I thought this book was excellent. It was very entertaining and really makes you think back to the original Wizard of Oz story in a more imaginative way. I highly recommened this one.

A funny, sad, and transcendent story of a young girl growing up in Appalachia. The New York Times Book Review called this Oprah Book Club selection "vivid and unforgettable."

Alene says: "Icy made me warm."
    "kind of annoying"
    Overall

Maybe this book would have been a better read than listen. I got very aggravated with the narrator singing all of the songs to the same melody, and there are alot of songs in this book. The author focused less on the main character's battling of Terett's Syndrome and more on everyone finding religeon. It bored me.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

    Kindle Customer says: "Great Narration!!"
    "Very Good Listen"
    Overall

I thought this book was excellent. I couldn't stop listening. The readers were excellent as well. I really enjoyed the old man's portrayal as an elderly Jacob. I highly recommened this book. It is a great example of 'everything happens for a reason.'

"My name is Tucker Max, and I am an asshole. I get excessively drunk at inappropriate times, disregard social norms, indulge every whim, ignore the consequences of my actions, mock idiots and posers, sleep with more women than is safe or reasonable, and just generally act like a raging dickhead. But, I do contribute to humanity in one very important way: I share my adventures with the world."

    C. Campbell says: "Holy crap my life sucks"
    "not that funny"
    Overall

This book was really not that funny. The author should have hired somebody to tell his story because at times it was difficult to make out what he was saying. Fortunately, I wasn't that interested in his story to care. If you want to hear the same or funnier stories just go to the bar and listen to drunk college guys brag about how many woman they've been with.

Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and the Congressional Gold Medal, Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel offers an unforgettable account of Hitler's horrific reign of terror in Night. This definitive edition features a new translation from the original French by Wiesel's wife and frequent translator, Marion Wiesel.

Jacobus says: "A quality production of a gripping tradegy"

This was a very graphic and sad book about what happened during the hollocaust. It is one of those books you can't get out of your head for a very long time.

Which is more dangerous, a gun or a swimming pool? What do schoolteachers and sumo wrestlers have in common? Why do drug dealers still live with their moms? How much do parents really matter? What kind of impact did Roe v. Wade have on violent crime?

Timothy says: "Fascinating book, despite the title."
    "Lots of opinions"
    Overall

I thought this book was a poor excuse for the author to share his opinions on Real Estate Agents and abortion. I wasn't even able to finish the book because of boredom and frustration.
