  • The Clockwork Princess: Infernal Devices, Book 3

    • UNABRIDGED (16 hrs and 24 mins)
    • By Cassandra Clare
    • Narrated By Daniel Sharman
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Don't miss The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, soon to be a major motion picture, in theaters August 2013. Danger intensifies for the Shadowhunters as the New York Times best-selling Infernal Devices trilogy comes to a close. If the only way to save the world was to destroy what you loved most, would you do it? The clock is ticking. Everyone must choose. Passion. Power. Secrets. Enchantment. Danger closes in around the Shadowhunters in the final installment of the best-selling Infernal Devices trilogy.

Amazon Customer says: "I Completely Enjoyed It"
    "Beautiful, Romantic"
What made the experience of listening to The Clockwork Princess the most enjoyable?

The narrator was great. For the first time I felt all the voices were right, especially Will's. C.Clare's obvious love of words and poetry come out more in this book than the others I think.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I must admit Will is my favorite. How could you not love him?

Which character – as performed by Daniel Sharman – was your favorite?

He got Will and Cecily's Welch voices just right.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Any additional comments?

I do not want to give anything away, but I was a bit scared to listen to this last one for fear of what C. Clare would do with theres characters - I need not have been worried. I thought this was the most romantic of the 3, which I personally loved......but I did wonder what happened to Bridgette??

  • Insurgent: Divergent, Book 2

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 22 mins)
    • By Veronica Roth
    • Narrated By Emma Galvin
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

One choice can transform you - or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves - and herself - while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Lore says: "Decent but not as interesting as Divergent"
Would you try another book from Veronica Roth and/or Emma Galvin?

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

This is a good story, but wow were there a lot of contradictions. One minute Tris absolutely one way and the next she's the opposite. One minute she's masquerading as an Ameity, and totally fools a guard, and the next she's reflecting on how her tattoos show in her Ameity dress.?? how did she fool the guard? The whole book is full of these kinds of contradictions, with a big one at the end that I will not reveal as it would be a spoiler. I like the characters, but I was frustrated and confused with Tris's roller coaster thoughts and actions, but maybe that is because she is so Divergent :) and with the many contradictions. In general, I thought this second book was not as thought out and cohesive as the first.

What about Emma Galvin’s performance did you like?

She did a good job with differentiating between characters.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    Any additional comments?

These books are good entertainment if you do not pay too close attention to what is actually happening, or wonder which faction forges the steel to make the guns, or why,if they have computer and network technology, haven't they hooked up a telephone, etc... but I very much enjoyed both books, and will listen to the third and hope for a bit less violence, and a bit more romance.
