Over the course of his seemingly irreproachable life, Magnus Pym has been all things to all people: a devoted family man, a trusted colleague, a loyal friend - and the perfect spy. But in the wake of his estranged father's death, Magnus vanishes, and the British Secret Service is up in arms. Is it grief, or is the reason for his disappearance more sinister? And who is the mysterious man with the sad moustache who also seems to be looking for Magnus? In A Perfect Spy, John le Carré has crafted one of his crowning masterpieces.

What disappointed you about A Perfect Spy?

It was not a story about a spy, but a story about how a kid grew up

Has A Perfect Spy turned you off from other books in this genre?

I am going to have to pay more attention to what I am buying

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Michael Jayston?

I am tired of narrators from England, or with a British accent

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from A Perfect Spy?

I stopped listening to the story. I couldn't complete the 2nd part download and never tried the third.

    Any additional comments?

I performed the steps to return this book, yet it is in my library and I do not have my credit returned to me. It has been over a week now.

Stephen King and Peter Straub reintroduce you to Jack Sawyer of The Talisman, once a precocious boy traversing the Territories to save his mother and her "twinner," now a retired homicide detective drawn back to his past.

    "Good story, Poor narrator"
    Overall

The story line was original with many interesting lives delved deeply into. BUT...Frank Muller is a poor narrator. He has an annoying nasally speach pattern. I actually stopped listening to the story for over a week. I only went back to it because I was out of other stories to listen to. His voice could almost be called sinister, and maybe that was what he was after, but he got nasally at the wrong time and with the wrong emphasis of words. I will not buy another book that he has narrated. I even looked at what books he has narrated just to make sure I don't buy them. Sorry, Frank, don't quit your day job.
