I love the world that Kate Perry has created in Laurel Heights, with great characters that are funny and intriguing. Sweet on You had a lot of sass--the main characters are 'tough cookies' - pun intended (Daniela's a BAKER!) Get it? :-) And of course the secondary story within the primary storyline was equally as good! That's what's so great about this series, you're kind of getting a two for one almost and neither leaves you lacking. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is in love with love...the path to these characters' HEA is a great journey.
My one criticism is not so much about the story content but about the fact that after books 6 & 7, there's book 10! If it's even remotely possible to get books 8 & 9 on Audible it would be awesome!
I'm not even sure what to say about this book. Overall, it was relatively good---gritty and raw, like most MC stories. Was it my favorite Joanna Wylde book---No. I've enjoyed Wylde's other books much, much more. I was really into the beginning; things were interesting and dramatic pretty immediately, but then it floundered somewhat. I wasn't a fan of the female narrator; her over-dramatized narration was a bit much. And there were several moments where I wanted to scream at Becca for being just a hair too naïve for my tastes. The sex was hot for sure; Puck was totally that bad boy you just melted for because he's got that one sensitive spot for his woman. And this isn't a spoiler but, Becca's mom and her hubby get the A-hole award of the year, hands down.
I wanted this to be a 4-or 5-star, but, it just missed the mark for me somewhat. I'm still a fan of Joanna Wylde, and look forward to what's coming next.
I don't know why I loved this book so much but I really did! ZANE had me mesmerized with every word spoken. There were moments that I thought my skin was on fire it was so hot! This book isn't for everyone, the plot isn't super deep and some characters are a bit one-dimensional. Truth be told, I think that goes for the series, but I'm loving it so far! There are tons of characters so you've got to keep up, and they're all sleeping with each other! Lots of bi-curiosity going on, and it wasn't distasteful, in fact, it's one of the funnier and hotter aspects of the story. I thoroughly enjoyed the male narrator--he gave Zane so much life and character, I laughed out right many times throughout. If you're in the mood for a little country sass and erotica, try this one of for size, you won't be disappointed!
This book was a pleasant surprise of awesomely hot sex and a good enough storyline to keep me hooked and purchasing book two already. I LOVE a good "we've been friends since we were kids" type of romance story, so this one was right up my alley. Kaleb and Zoey were awesome, if not a bit over dramatic in some scenes. I was reminded a bit of a Maya Banks' series, so perhaps Nicole Edwards is a protege of Banks? The female narrator left much to be desired, but Bates was good. I wouldn't suggest spending a credit but I'd definitely recommend this for a sale and for someone that really really wants some sex with a side of story!
This is the best one so far! Again, I feel like I'm late to the party on this series and author. I won't make that mistake again, because I'm now a lifetime fan. This installment of Hard Ink was jammed with action, suspense, HOT HOT HOT sex, and I listened in one sitting. I can not wait until June when the next book is out. One thing to note, is that, I think this is ACTUALLY the 4th book as opposed to the 3rd based on a few references throughout the story. Each book could stand alone, but, I enjoy listening in sequence. I don't think I missed much or any major spoilers revealed by the incorrect sequence so I'm not too miffed.
Great 5-star listen, and definitely worth a credit!
I have mixed feelings. I enjoyed it, because I'm a 'bookwhore' but this seemed like a version of Bared To You with hints of 50 Shades. Then again, that's almost every contemporary romance book these days. This one was bordering on having a few too many similarities somewhat, but since it's Katy Evans, it was a well written and sexy book. I'm frustrated that it ended as it did, but I'm looking forward to book 2 because it's likely to be EPIC. I was very drawn into Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint---what an awesome name!--so there's no doubt that the next phase of his and Rachel's story will be one for the romance history books. He's so mysterious. I'm looking forward to more revelations about him, his childhood, his parents, everything.
This story felt very different and much lighter than Evans' REAL series, which I ADORED, so if you've read those and are expecting the same, don't. This is definitely worthy of a strong 4 stars.
This series is fantastic so far! This second book is just as good as the first. I totally loved Shane in book one and his romance with Crystal (Sarah) was so incredibly special. The intensity and emotion in the story made me really connect with the characters. Well written, great performance, absolutely an overall 5-star listen.
I was blown away with my level of interest and pure delight in this book! Sure, when I purchased it a year ago I'd wanted to listen to it or I wouldn't have bought it, but I think I bought it in a bundle and it's just been collecting 'digital dust' :-) all this time. Shame on me because this was a fantastic listen!
The part of the story that I didn't enjoy as much, at least initially, was the narration; there were some ups and downs in terms of overkill on the dramatics, and at certain points her pace had too many pregnant pauses, but her voice was pleasant if not a little too sweet. All that aside, I loved every minute. I was intrigued and really enjoyed the mystery & suspense with the romance. This band of dishonored soldiers are one sexy bunch on a mission to reclaim their good name and maybe get a little love and nookie while doing so. Nick and Becca will make you swoon, like, eye rolling swoon; I loved it! I have a feeling this is going to be amongst my list of favorite series for sure. Definitely credit worthy!
This book was smoking hot! Far better than book one and hopefully an indication of books to come. The narrator is awful, but that's the worst of any major negative aspects of the story.
Horrible narrator aside, there are some books that I can immediately listen to for a second round, and this story is in that category for me. It was funny, romantic, just enough drama to make my mouth gape open a few times, and super super sexy!
I've had this book in my library FOREVER, and I may have purchased it solely for that smoking hot cover! Great cover or not, the story was really good. Single successful business woman and mom, meets a hot stud muffin of a football star and, oh yeah, he's ready for love, has a great family, loves her child and is great in bed.... I couldn't ask for much more.
Relatively basic story line, but epic hot sex that makes your blood boil! Jaci Burton is definitely a five star writer in the hotness category, even with the narrator, who, to me, was just ok. I'm all in for the remainder of the books if they're half as good as this on. Highly recommended for erotic romance lovers!
Somehow I didn't know this book was all of 1 hour and a half, but in that short time, it was jam packed with action, humor, and hot lusty sex! It was good. For such a short story, the plot was sensible and kept me listening. If I'm being really honest, the hottie ex-Seal kept me glue to my headphones! I love a man that sees what he wants and goes for it! If the audio production was a bit better, I'd consider giving this 4-stars for sure. If this is on sale, totally worth it, otherwise, wait until there's a deal .
