He also shares his lessons learned, and issues a call to action to summon Americans back to their roots in hard work, common sense, integrity, generosity, and optimism. Michael says: "Good listen after the Bush bashing"
"Where has all the humility gone !"

Although i enjoyed the book and its many lessons , I could not wonder what ever happened to humility . I now understand that Lee created the mould for the superstar CEO , I am not sure this is a healthy thing in current economic environment .

    Mark says: "Interesting Insight"
    "What a waste"

Why Mark did you damage your reputation by writing such a pointless business book. One of the few books that I got very little out of it. I hung on to the end and got one pearl of business wisdom

  • Mr. Shmooze: The Art and Science of Selling Through Relationships

    • UNABRIDGED (2 hrs and 55 mins)
    • By Richard Abraham
    • Narrated By Peter Ganim

Mr. Shmooze is the parable of a man who reveals the secret shared by all superstar salespeople. Selling, in its most exquisite form, is not about taking, nor is it about persuading. Selling, believe it or not, is about giving. Mr. Shmooze gives for a living. He starts by listening and he quickly comes to understand what people really need. His customers love him because he gives more than he takes. They trust him because he is passionate about their interests.

    James says: "Great Short Listen"
    "Born in the USA"

If you assume that the business world is bigger than the USA then this book has limited value. Nothing new but assumes that customers like fake compliments, insincere gestures and high fiving at breakfast meetings. The voices are good and must admit I chuckled many times at the one dimensional approach to solving people problems. If I did these stunts on my clients I will be called Mr Sleaze not Mr Shmooze. God Bless America
