Pompous, clich?d, flat language ... and, worst of all, the plot does not build enough suspense to pull you along and put up with the writing.
Excellent book, terrific audio production. One of the very best of the ca. 150 I've listened to over the past years. Try also "The Darling" for a similarly complex and magnetic story and great production quality.
OK, so the plot has a major weakness - you see that coming and it really doesn't matter. The appeal of the book is not the 'who dunnit' but the descriptions of life in a totalitarian police state. Those gave me lots to think about. Not a cheerful or happy listen at all, at times hard even on someone who loves 'noir', but definitely engaging.
On balance nor worth it. Cute premise, dinos living among us, but stretched way too thin. The story is not really engaging but it'll keep your eyes open because of the comic-book style action and romance. Great production though.
Only suitable for keeping you awake during late night drives. Not believable for even a second. The reading makes this worse by being overly dramatic. There's much better stuff out there!
The story is OK, not blow-you-away different or captivating but keeps your interest. The production, however, is really good! Definitely worth a listen...
