Acclaimed author Susanna Kearsley's previous works have won the RT Book Reviews Reviewers Choice Award, and finaled for both the UK Romantic Novel of the Year and the RITA awards.

Eva Ward is a modern woman thrown back three centuries to 1715 - only to find that might be exactly where she belongs. There, she finds true love with Daniel Butler, but the discord surrounding Hanoverian King George plunges the lovers into a world of intrigue, treason, and romance.

What an amazing story. Because I really enjoyed The Winter Sea I couldn't wait to listen to The Rose Garden and I wasn't disappointed. The story moves back and forth through time and as with The Winter Sea this proves to keep the listener intrigued and wanting more. I guess my only negative comment was that at times the narrator needed to take great gulps of air - but this was only a very minor issue. I highly recommend this book.

Where does Valorous rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I have really been enjoying this series and so I would say this books rates in the top five books I have read this year.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Natalie is my favourite character. At first she appeared to be a mouse but as the story progressed her strength became so evident.

Which character – as performed by Brooke Bloomingdale and Cooper North – was your favorite?

I enjoyed both narrators. Dual narration adds depth to the story and these two voices work well together.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I don't want to spoil this book for those who haven't read the book but the defining moment for me was at the end. I enjoy a book that allows a character holds true to their beliefs.

    Any additional comments?

This is a series of three books that are being released one week apart. Normally I avoid books that have major cliff hangers but knowing the future release dates has made this a series worth following.

Knight Sebring knows who he is, what he wants, and what he likes. And he gets it. But he never expected something as sweet as Anya Gage to wander into his bedroom during a party he did not expect to be having to borrow his phone. Knight tries to leave Anya to the life she deserves, with white picket fences and a man who watches football on Sundays - good, normal, and clean.

What did you like best about Knight? What did you like least?

I guess I would have to be honest and say I bought this book because of the narrator - she is amazing. I also like a bit of spice in my fantasy and so this was pretty spicy. I did find some of the language difficult to follow but I guess that was because I am an Aussie and not used to the speech of the culture this story portrays.

If you’ve listened to books by Kristen Ashley before, how does this one compare?

This book was totally different to other KA books that I have read. I started this series from book 4 (Deacon) and although the premise in this book is much the same - alpha guy who becomes instantly attracted to total stranger, the feeling of this book is more dark in an uneasy sort of way.

Have you listened to any of Savannah Richards’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have only listened to Savannah Richards when she narrates as Therese Plummer. This performance was awesome as always.

Did Knight inspire you to do anything?

I can't stop thinking about Anya calling Knight 'daddy' when in the depths of passion. I guess it has inspired me to refer to my dad as 'father'.

    Any additional comments?

This is a great series and I will listen to the other books.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Gilded Cuff to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version but the audio version was amazing. As with many other readers I enjoy some spice in the books I listen to or read. The strength of this book lies in the fact that while it is sensual and erotic it is also full of suspense.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Gilded Cuff?

I don't like giving away special moments in a book review - I think that takes away some of the intrigue for those who have not read the book. But I will say that this book has some very special moments that will suit a wide variety of readers

What about Veronica Den’s performance did you like?

I enjoyed Veronica's narration although some of her male voices did at times lack depth.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I don't usually listen to a book in one sitting but the book certainly held my interest.

    Any additional comments?

Even if BDSM is not your thing dont let it put you off reading this book. The book is sensual and romantic but a thriller as well.

Would you try another book from Ann Mayburn and/or Edo De Angelis?

No thanks I don't think I will. This book has lots of sex but no substance - and yes I know it is Erotica but even those of us who enjoy reading erotica like to have a strong storyline along with it.

What could Ann Mayburn have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Gia is isupposed to be this very intelligent high achieving woman but we hear nothing of her character other than her preferences when it comes to her sexual desires. I think Ann could have spent more time developing the characters of the main two players which would in turn have supplied a more substantial storyline.

What didn’t you like about Edo De Angelis’s performance?

I found his accent difficult to listen to.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I was disappointed that I wasted time listening to it. I did skim ahead hoping that it would improve but unfortunately that didn't happen.

Would you consider the audio edition of Statistic to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version and so I am unable to comment.

What other book might you compare Statistic to and why?

This book stands alone with its impact on me.

What about Kai Kennicott’s performance did you like?

I have heard other books narrated by Kai Kennicott and to be honest wasn't that impressed. But with Statistic Kai seems to have come of age. Her narration was well paced and certainly added to the intrigue of the book

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

My extreme reaction came with the epilogue. I have listened to it a couple of times and I am still dumb founded by it.

Travis Walker, the oldest of the seven Walker brothers, has been referred to as moody and mysterious, and for the most part, he would agree. Until recently he spent his days helping his brothers run the family business. Now he dedicates his time and energy to building a resort, Alluring Indulgence, that caters to fetishes and fantasies. And despite his attempt to work himself into the ground, Travis has never denied - at least not to himself - that something is missing.

Where does Travis rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This audiobook doesn't make my top ten. The story contained a lot of background thought by all characters and I found this frustrating. I just kept thinking 'will you please get on with it'.

What did you like best about this story?

This was a happily ever after story and it didn't fail to deliver.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The three characters in the book finally coming to grips with the depth of their love for each other.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Alluring Indulgence!

    Any additional comments?

I felt that the book was let down by the continual overthinking and musings of the characters. I realise that it is good to know what each character is thinking but it shouldn't be to the detriment of the story.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Listening to this book was like listening to fingernails down a chalkboard. It certainly wasn't time well spent.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the story enough to purchase Requested Surrender as an ebook for my Kindle. I am interested to see where the story goes. The characters appear to be interesting and as this is a prequel it sets the scene nicely for what is to come.

How could the performance have been better?

The performance - here goes. It was really difficult to concentrate on the story being read because of all the background noises. I could hear footsteps - was she walking as she narrated the book. The music in the background was positively grating. The narration was soooo slow.

Was A Date with a Dom: Prelude to Requested Surrender worth the listening time?

No. I hope this book is out as an ebook.

    Any additional comments?

I thought long and hard about how to review this book. The author has put a great deal of work into the book and I think it will be a worthwhile book to read, but the narration is the big downfall.

Where does Written in My Own Heart's Blood rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Diana Gabaldon and Amy Harmon (my favourite authors) have written some amazing books and I rank all of their books equally at the very top of my listening tree. Written In My Own Heart's Blood is a book I have been eagerly anticipating for four years and it is everything I hoped it would be.

What other book might you compare Written in My Own Heart's Blood to and why?

At first I was going to say that I haven't read any other books that I could compare to this one but that wouldn't be true. The first one was named Outlander and was the story of a time traveler named Claire and a young Scotsman named Jamie.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I had many favourite scenes but there were a couple of notables that I keep thinking of over and over again. One would be when Bree was reading the letter she found from Frank Randall. It showed just how much he loved and treasured Bree and how he had done all he could to prepare her for the life ahead. The other scene would be the tragedy the family suffered just before leaving Savannah. Absolutely heartbreaking. And then there was William! Oh and of course Lord John.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This book is amazing in that it brings together so much of what has come before. I think I will need to listen to it a couple of times to pick up all it has to offer. Did I want to listen to it all in one session? Hell yes! I wanted to know it all. But realistically with a book that spans 48 hours of listening time that was never going to happen.

    Any additional comments?

Any book that can leave you constantly thinking about what you have just read, about the decisions the characters made and the way their lives evolved is a gift to be treasured. But now I find that I need to go back to the beginning yet again because I realise that I didn't pay enough attention to what was written before! Well done Diana.

Michael is mourning the recent death of his wife and his father. Would you listen to Uncovering You 2: Submission again? Why?

This series has been very cleverly written and I will be listening to this book many times. There are so many hints to what lies behind the story and another one comes to light each time the story is read.

What other book might you compare Uncovering You 2: Submission to and why?

At first I compared this book to Consequences but after reading this second book in the series I think it has a flavour of its own. It's obvious that JS has his own agenda and I am so intrigued to find out what that is. Lily is going to need to think so much smarter if she wants a chance to outsmart him. This man is ruthless.

Have you listened to any of Amy Johnson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Amy Johnson's narration is as intense in this book as it was in Uncovering You 1.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

For me the most telling part in this book was in the early chapters when JS turned on the purple light to show Lily how easily he could control her boundaries. When he whispered 'run' my heart dropped - I almost gave up then. I thought 'this man is mad - how will you ever bring him down'.

    Any additional comments?

Scarlett Edwards is an amazing talent. She has been able to continue the tension created in the first book through to the second and I am so looking forward to the third. I just hope our heroine keeps fighting back!
