  • Conscious Business

Consciousness, teaches Fred Kofman, is the capacity to observe, choose, and act in accord with your values. And "conscious business" means using that ability at every level of your work: in being aware of the needs of others and expressing your own needs; in seeing the hidden emotional obstacles that may be holding your team back; in making good decisions under pressure; and even in delving into such spiritual questions as "Who am I?" and "What is my real purpose here?"

I found this listen to be very difficult to stay awake for. Not only was the content very un-enlightening (I could have said everything of importance in 30 seconds) but it is written and spoken in such a manner that is difficult to stay focussed on. For those looking for improvement in their lives, you can find much, much more in some of the "classics"

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

I had not heard much about this book other than what was in the other reviews here - but I found myself unable to focus on much else in my life until I had listened to this twice. It is a very well written book, surprising as such based on how it came to be (you will be told at the end), and will easily keep you interested. I have gone on with the series and continue to enjoy the writting and would recomend this to anyone needing to get away from reality for a while.
