A very compelling story with well thought out and extremely likable characters. The narration is well done. I was very surprised by this novel.
At the risk of losing my "man card", this book was delightful. Very likable characters, inventive time line structure, and very well narrated.
To me, a good book is one where I hope the book does not end because I become so attached to the characters. I know that I will miss them; this is one of those books.
I have been an avid listener of most if not all of Griffin's series of books. Unfortunately, I am unwilling to listen past the 44 minute mark of this one due to the new narrator. I don't mean to be a hater, but the voices he does for various characters are really irritating. The voice for the young woman in the story is best described as "Valley Girl" speak.
Your mileage may vary.
The hits just keep on coming. In my opinion, always a good read. The relationships the author has developed keep me coming back for more.
An author that knows his stuff. Action packed, well told, and great characters. Look forward to the next in the series.
The formula works. Like-able characters, tight writing, and good story-telling make this a continuation of the series I enjoy.
Too many attempts to "tug at the heartstrings," and way too corny.
Fonzie is in the house.
I read some negative reviews on this book before buying it to listen to. I must disagree with those reviews as I found this to be just what I expect for Stone from the author. I found it to be the usual jaunt of misadventures, sex, and conspicuous consumption I have come to expect and look forward to. The characters are quite likable and I find the narrator wonderful for the tone of this series.
In my opinion, this book is not worth the purchase price. The story is akin to Superman playing a secret agent performing unrealistic feats of strength, agility, pain tolerance, and escapes. The narrator voices the hero in a tone reminiscent of Christian Bales Batman voice. I did hang in until the end only to see what unbelievable conclusion the author came up with.
