When hunters from around the world gather in Las Vegas for a conference, a creature left over from a World War Two weapons experiment wakes up and goes on a rampage across the desert. A not-so-friendly wager between the rival companies turns into a race to see who can bag the mysterious creature first. Only there is far more to this particular case than meets the eye, and as Hunters fall prey to their worst nightmares, Owen Zastava Pitt and the staff of Monster Hunter International have to stop an ancient god from turning Sin City into a literal hell on earth.

Katherine says: "What happens in Vegas..."
    "Great Story"

  • Full Force and Effect: A Jack Ryan Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (19 hrs and 15 mins)
    • By Mark Greaney
    • Narrated By Scott Brick
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

A North Korean ICBM crashes into the Sea of Japan. A veteran CIA officer is murdered in Ho Chi Minh City, and a package of forged documents goes missing. The pieces are there, but assembling the puzzle will cost Jack Ryan, Jr., and his fellow Campus agents precious time. Time they don't have.

    R. Conley says: "Thank You Mark Greaney!"
    "Good story"

It's a good story but it seems to lack the Tom Clancy touch that I've grown to enjoy it still a darn good read though.

  • The Remaining

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 44 mins)
    • By D. J. Molles
    • Narrated By Christian Rummel

In a steel-and-lead-encased bunker 20 feet below the basement level of his house, a soldier waits for his final orders. On the surface, a plague ravages the planet, infecting over 90% of the populace. The bacterium burrows through the brain, destroying all signs of humanity and leaving behind little more than base, prehistoric instincts. The infected turn into hyper-aggressive predators, with an insatiable desire to kill and feed. Someday soon, the soldier will have to open the hatch to his bunker, and step out into this new wasteland, to complete his mission....

G Wallace says: "Die Hard Meets 28 Days Later"
    "Poor Story"
What disappointed you about The Remaining?

The main character is suppose to be a army ranger with combat experience. Based on his actions in the story and his reaction to danger he is anything but a ranger with combat experience.

Would you ever listen to anything by D. J. Molles again?

What about Christian Rummel’s performance did you like?

    I liked it.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Remaining?

    The entire story

    Any additional comments?

I'm a vet with combat experience. The author needs to write stories that don't revolve around the military.

  • Sterling Biographies: Frederick Douglass

    • UNABRIDGED (3 hrs and 27 mins)
    • By Frances E. Ruffin
    • Narrated By Cornelius Jones

From slave to freedom fighter: that was the long and hard journey taken by Frederick Douglass. Douglass was America's first great civil rights leader, and he threw off the physical, mental, and legal chains of slavery to become one of Americaï¿¿ï¿¿s greatest champions for human rights. It was said that his life was proof that once black people could read and write about their injustices, they would have the power to end slavery.

Marsha says: "Great if you're 9 years old"
    "Very Excelant"

A very great book! I highly recomend it to any one that is interested in History and the Civil Rights movement. Frederick Douglass's Life is a great example of what someone can acomplish through perseverence.
