The sphere is alien in origin, but has been controlled by Man for millennia. A legend as old as the stars rules this constructed world: when the seventh seventh seventh human Heptarch is crowned, he will be the Kristos and will bring eternal salvation...or the destruction of the cosmos.

In Newcastle-upon-Tyne, AD 2142, Detective Sidney Hurst attends a brutal murder scene. The victim is one of the wealthy North family clones - but none have been reported missing. And the crime’s most disturbing aspect is how the victim was killed. Twenty years ago, a North clone billionaire and his household were horrifically murdered in exactly the same manner, on the tropical planet of St Libra. But if the murderer is still at large, was Angela Tramelo wrongly convicted? Tough and confident, she never waivered under interrogation - claiming she alone survived an alien attack. But there is no animal life on St Libra.

Would you try another book from Peter F. Hamilton and/or Toby Longworth?

I love Peter's books normally and I really like Toby as a narrater but this book was drawn out dribble.

Has Great North Road - Part One turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I love all of Peter's other work so I will persist.

What about Toby Longworth’s performance did you like?

    Great characterisation

What character would you cut from Great North Road - Part One?

    about half of them

    Any additional comments?

A book does not have to be long for the sake of it, the commonwealth sage was justifed as was the Void trilogy but this was just drawn out and boring, I didn't much like the setting either..

Would you consider the audio edition of World Without End to be better than the print version?

I have never read the print version so unable to comment on a comparison.

What did you like best about this story?

Never a boring moment, fast paced.

Have you listened to any of John Lee’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, John is a great performer, specially in this and Pillars of the Earth.

    Any additional comments?

Do yourself a favour and listen to this and Pillars Of The Earth!

Would you listen to Pandora's Star again? Why?

Absolutely I will listen to this again. I didn't want this book to end, so many sub-stories within the main text, great characters and the amazing world in which the live.

What other book might you compare Pandora's Star to and why?

The Rama series would be the next best thing aside from other Peter F Hamilton books.

What does John Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I hated John Lee's narration when I first heard him narrate the Dreaming Void, but after a few chapters he settles in and I started to enjoy his narration. The same applied to this book but this time I was expecting it so it did not bug me so much. In the early part of the book he sounds like he is over emphasizing parts of the sentence and overall it sounds to staccato in his speech but then he settles into normal reading pattern as he progresses.

    Any additional comments?

Best series I have ever read, after reading Game of Thrones series it was a pleasure to read a well written series that was as interesting on page one as it was on the last page.

What disappointed you about A Dance with Dragons (Part Two)?

5 years to write this drawn out soap opera and the damn series still has no ending!

What do you think your next listen will be?

Anything other then this Author who is now just trying to milk his one idea

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Roy Dotrice?

Roy Dotrice did a great job in the first 3 books but forgot half of the characters voices in this one compared to how he portrayed them earlier, specially Denarys.

What character would you cut from A Dance with Dragons (Part Two)?

Reek, all the Iron born, and anyone to do with Dragon Queen, that whole part of the story was such a yawn

    Any additional comments?

    Finish the damn story
