This is my first book by Ronie Kendig. It started out a bit slow, but once it took off, it was really good. The foreign names got a bit confusing at times. This book is in 2 parts. The second part was definitely the best. I realize it is the first in a series, but I wish she had tied up a few more loose ends. If you enjoy military-type books, you will like this one.
This was a good story, but the author got caught up in too many details and wandering around a bit. She could have left out a couple of hours of listening time and it would have been better. I love long books, but get bored when the story rambles.
My husband and I love the Mitford books! It is our "hands down" favorite! I never thought this would happen, but we are only giving it 4 stars (4-1/2 if we could). While it doesn't contain actual "cuss" words, Jan Karon slipped in several off-color slang words that are just not necessary. There are other ways to get your point across. It may not be a big deal to others, but we hold Mitford to the highest standard. The story line is great, and we can hardly wait until the next book comes out. John McDonough does his usual outstanding job of narrating. He IS the voice of Mitford!
This is easily one of our all-time favorite audio books! The story is delightful. Dale Cramer's sense of humor is the best. Somehow he manages to show the differences in a woman's opinion vs. a man's ... without making it look like husband bashing! Ed Sala's narration couldn't have been better. He is perfect for this story. We wish there was a sequel! We highly recommend this book and will definitely listen to it again.
The last in the Intevention series, this book is great. I did get a bit tired of Emily trying to do things her own way, especially after all the mistakes she has made. But, it's still a thriller. The ending was absolutely perfect! I highly recommend this series!
This is the 2nd book in the Intervention series. Since this one involves a newborn baby, it really tugged at my heart. The last hour or so was intensely suspenseful. I highly recommend this series!
Terri pours her heart into this story of drugs and intervention programs. She does an excellent job of showing the reality, horror and suspense of the life of a person with an addiction. She also includes the beginning of a love story ... anxious to read the next book, Vicious Cycle!
I love Brandilyn Collins' books, and this one is a favorite. Delaney Miller's life just keeps getting more and more complicated. And then the twists and turns kick in! Just when you think things cannot get any worse, guess what ... they do! Brandilyn will keep you guessing until the very end. I highly recommend this book. (A note about the narrator ~ she does an excellent job with the voices of the characters. I only gave her 4 stars because her "reading" voice was a bit too soft for a suspense book.)
Even though this book deals with crusty miners, this is not just a guy book. My husband and I both loved it! Seventeen year old Jeremy must grow up quick when he signs on with the miners and takes up residence with his uncle. This story has suspense, drama, humor and a touch of romance. We highly recommend it! (We gave the narrator 3 stars. He starts out making too many "noises" with his mouth. Over the course of the book, he gets better and could get 4 stars.)
This book is set back in the days of Jesus. Randy Singer writes with such a passion. He brings this age-old story to life with incredible imagery. The last hour of this book will keep you spellbound. All of his books are 5-star, and we highly recommend this one!
