Charlotte owns a Birmingham bridal boutique. But with her own wedding day approaching, why can’t she find the perfect dress - or feel certain she should marry Tim? Then Charlotte purchases a vintage dress in a battered trunk at an estate sale. It looks brand-new, shimmering with pearls and satin, hand stitched and timeless in its design. But where did it come from? Who wore it? Charlotte’s search for the gown’s history begins as a distraction from her sputtering love life. But it takes on a life of its own as she comes to know the women who have worn the dress.

This is my first Rachel Hauck book but definitely won't be my last. She tells a story that develops through the years and does an excellent job of going back and forth between the past and the present, without being confusing. There's plenty of twists and turns as well as romance and humor. This is the first time I have heard this narrator, and she was perfect for this book. I highly recommend this book, author and narrator!

She has friends, a faux "family" who lives in her house, and a loving boyfriend who may soon ask her to marry him. Her aching dream of a husband and future children are about to come true. But protecting this life of promise means keeping a low profile and guarding the truth of her past - from everyone. The town's peace is shattered when Delanie's friend Clara is murdered, and Delanie finds her body.

I love Brandilyn Collins' books, and this one is a favorite. Delaney Miller's life just keeps getting more and more complicated. And then the twists and turns kick in! Just when you think things cannot get any worse, guess what ... they do! Brandilyn will keep you guessing until the very end. I highly recommend this book. (A note about the narrator ~ she does an excellent job with the voices of the characters. I only gave her 4 stars because her "reading" voice was a bit too soft for a suspense book.)

Author of Sutter's Cross, a Booklist Top Pick, W. Dale Cramer evokes the ambiance of a small Southern town in this inspiring novel. Jeremy's mother has passed away, leaving him with an odd request. He is to find his Uncle Aiden, a hardrock miner, and stay with him, regardless of Aiden's wishes. Jeremy's faith in God gives him the courage to find the humanity behind this tough-as-steel man.

Even though this book deals with crusty miners, this is not just a guy book. My husband and I both loved it! Seventeen year old Jeremy must grow up quick when he signs on with the miners and takes up residence with his uncle. This story has suspense, drama, humor and a touch of romance. We highly recommend it! (We gave the narrator 3 stars. He starts out making too many "noises" with his mouth. Over the course of the book, he gets better and could get 4 stars.)

This is my first book by Ronie Kendig. It started out a bit slow, but once it took off, it was really good. The foreign names got a bit confusing at times. This book is in 2 parts. The second part was definitely the best. I realize it is the first in a series, but I wish she had tied up a few more loose ends. If you enjoy military-type books, you will like this one.

We love all of Creston Mapes' books. This is a story about the life of a super rock star. Everett Lester is one messed up dude! It did get a bit confusing at times when the storyline would go from the past to the present and back again. But once we got into the story, it was not a problem. We highly recommend this book and are anxious to get started on the sequel ~ Full Tilt.

Cathy Cramer is a former lawyer and investigative blogger who writes commentary on local homicides. When she finds a threatening note warning her that she’s about to experience the same kind of judgment and speculation that she dishes out in her blog, Cathy writes it off as mischief…until her brother is caught in the middle of a murder investigation - the victim is his ex-wife. As her brother is tried and convicted in the media, and bloggers have a field day, Cathy wonders if she should have taken the threat more seriously.

As my husband and I were listening, we kept "offering suggestions and warnings" to the characters! This is a well-developed and thought-out plot. We highly recommend it and look forward to the next in the series.
