  • The Art of Racing in the Rain

    • UNABRIDGED (6 hrs and 56 mins)

Why we think it’s a great listen: If you’ve ever loved a dog - or even patted a dog - this book, told from the perspective of man’s best friend, will tug at your heartstrings...and won’t let go until long after Welch performs the last word. Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: a philosopher with a nearly human soul (and an obsession with opposable thumbs), he has educated himself by watching television extensively and by listening very closely to the words of his master.

Lora says: "Enzo (because he's so wize) for president."
    "My 2 cents!"

The parallels to racing. The dog!

What three words best describe Christopher Evan Welch’s voice?

At first I didn't like it very much. But you get used to it and i guess it grows in you.

Who was the most memorable character of The Art of Racing in the Rain and why?

    The main character.

    Any additional comments?

Overall even I gave it 3 or 4 stars it was a good book and I enjoyed reading it. I am a keen reader and lately listener so I didn't regret reading it. My only objection is that it doesn't right away grab your attention. It kind of builds up. The book wins you in the end!

Churchill's history of the Second World War is, and will remain, the definitive work. Lucid, dramatic, remarkable for its breadth and sweep and for its sense of personal involvement, it is universally acknowledged as a magnificent reconstruction.

John M says: "Brilliant! Only Churchill could have done this."
    "Great to listen to!"
