I bought this for one of my ESL students, she was thrilled. The pronunciation is clear, the examples are dead on and the content is very useful for anyone learning English.

The Learn English with Short Stories series does not need to be read in order, as all of the stories are independent from one another. This 10th section includes two thrilling science fiction stories. Each unique science fiction story comes with highlighted vocabulary and definitions before and during the tale. This guide also offers two multiple-choice vocabulary exercises after each story, allowing you to practice your newly learned terms and idioms. It is suitable for intermediate to advanced English learners.

The first story led to some deep discussions about the universe with my ESL students. I am intrigued by the concept the story puts forth. I wasn't a huge fan of the second story, but two of my students said they really enjoyed it. This audiobook definitely added some creativity to my ESL lessons.

This is a personal favorite for me, as it always comes in handy with new students. Most English learners in the intermediate level do not know half of these idioms and phrasal verbs. The audio helps guide our lessons. I pause the audio to explain further. Very, very useful for English tutors.

I love the endings to both of these stories. They were easy enough for my ESL students to understand, but entertaining enough to not bore me to death during the lessons. I like to pause the multiple choice questions before the answers are spoken to let me students think.

I personally prefer science fiction and fantasy, but these murder mystery stories were a fun listen for my English students. The other audiobooks from this series have more multiple choice questions than this one. They get better after section 3 of the "learn English with short stories" series in my opinion. I'd say start with section 4 if you are not into murder mysteries, since you don't have to go in order with this material.

Maybe you've felt it in your life - the feeling of frustration - of not knowing why the circumstances were not working in your favor. Perhaps you've wondered, "Why me?" Most people have grappled with such a question, but fewer ask the more important question: "How have I been responsible for these circumstances?"

If you could sum up Learn English with Short Stories: Science Fiction - Section 9 in three words, what would they be?

This is great for English tutors who want teaching material during their lessons. English students can also use this by themselves. Some great stories here.

What other book might you compare Learn English with Short Stories: Science Fiction - Section 9 to and why?

I'd compare it to the other few science fiction sections in the "learn English with short stories series."
