    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 52 mins)
    • By Dan Brown
    • Narrated By Paul Michael
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

When the NSA's invincible code-breaking machine encounters a mysterious code it cannot break, the agency calls its head cryptographer, Susan Fletcher, a brilliant, beautiful mathematician. What she uncovers sends shock waves through the corridors of power. The NSA is being held hostage, not by guns or bombs, but by a code so complex that if released it would cripple U.S. intelligence.

    Daniele says: "Don't try it"
    "Same old ...but doesn't work"

Same old .... but it doesn't work this time. I was very disappointed, after enjoying Dan Browns other books now it seems that they are all the same....but this one I just could not even finish....if you heard Deception Point and Angels and Demons can skip this one.

My favorite of Dan Brown's books was Angels and Demons .... and followed by The Da Vinci Code ..... the Deception point....

It seems he found a "cookie cutter" and he is sticking to it. Save your points...

  • Beach Road

    • UNABRIDGED (6 hrs and 38 mins)
    • By James Patterson, Peter de Jonge
    • Narrated By Billy Baldwin
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Tom Dunleavy has a one-man law firm in America's wealthiest resort town: legendary East Hampton. But his job barely keeps him in paper clips. His clients make a living serving the rich. The billionaires and celebrities swarming the beaches already have lawyers on their payroll.

    Amy says: "Mediocre pulp fiction"
    "Ho Hum..."

Another "cookie cutter" book. When I first started listening to this book and realized that it was not just read to me but has been "dramatized" by different readers, I was put off. Actually it kind of worked for this book, however the content is very poorly written and so predictable that at best it was barely a mere 2 stars rating from me. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because I somehow managed to finish listening.....

I probably would not waste a book credit on this one......ho hum...

  • London Bridges

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 19 mins)
    • By James Patterson
    • Narrated By Peter J. Fernandez, Denis O'Hare
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

In broad desert daylight, a mysterious platoon of soldiers evacuates the entire population of Sunrise Valley, Nevada. Minutes later, a huge bomb detonates a hundred feet above the ground and lays waste to homes, cars, and playgrounds: a town annihilated in an instant.

    Leslie says: "What a ride!!!"
    "The sound affects are Annoying!"

If I could have given this a minus 1 star I would have. I really did not like the Sound Affects at all, the one paragraph chapters and the Darth Vader imitator announcing each chapter just before the reader announces it.

The story is cliche it's been over used! The subplot goes nowhere and makes no sense.

Over all I did not like this book, save your money.

  • My Life

    • ABRIDGED (6 hrs and 12 mins)
    • By Bill Clinton
    • Narrated By Bill Clinton

President Bill Clinton's My Life is the strikingly candid portrait of a global leader who decided early in life to devote his intellectual and political gifts, and his extraordinary capacity for hard work, to serving the public. It is the fullest, most concretely detailed, most nuanced account of a presidency ever written, and a testament to the positive impact on America and on the world of his work and his ideals.

Drayton says: "Less than I expected"
    "Slick Willy"

Same old song....First half was almost interesting but his ego gets in the way.

  • Hollywood Animal: A Memoir

    • UNABRIDGED (28 hrs and 26 mins)
    • By Joe Eszterhas
    • Narrated By Scott Brick

He spent his earliest years in post WWII refugee camps. He came to America and grew up in Cleveland, stealing cars, rolling drunks, battling priests, nearly going to jail. He became the screenwriter of the worldwide hits Basic Instinct, Jagged Edge, and Flashdance. He also wrote the legendary disasters Showgirls and Jade. The rebellion never ended, even as he became the most famous, or infamous, screenwriter in Hollywood.

    J. Jason says: "MEMO to JOE ESZTERHAS"
"Who knew? Joe tells a great tale..."

I liked this book glad that it's out in audio though. Joe Eszterhas tells a good story. It kept my interest even if we know the ending. The narrator does a pretty good job in trying to pronounce the difficult Hungarian words.

  • Paris Never Leaves You

    • UNABRIDGED (19 hrs and 30 mins)
    • By Adreana Robbins
    • Narrated By Lloyd James, Marguerite Gavin

Paris Never Leaves You is full of fascinating characters: models, vintners, poets, and especially artists and those who fawn on them and prey on them. Their glittering world forms the backdrop for a modern-day Cinderella story. A stunned Djuna Cortez has just inherited the estate of eccentric artist Joaquim Carlos Cortez - and learned that he is her grandfather. Barely 21, Djuna is soon overwhelmed by the City of Lights. She falls in love with a handsome winemaker who seems to be the man of her dreams, but discovers that she is living a nightmare. Isolated in the French countryside, Djuna finds salvation in reading her grandfather's journals which spin a mesmerizing tale of the young artist in 1930s Paris, facing with the rest of the city the advances of Nazi forces. From her grandfather's struggles and tragedies, Djuna gathers the strength to finally break free from her abusive husband and take the steps necessary to preserve her life, her sanity, her fortune, and her grandfather's powerful artistic legacy.

  • Memoirs of a Geisha

    • UNABRIDGED (17 hrs and 41 mins)
    • By Arthur Golden
    • Narrated By Bernadette Dunne
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

In a voice both haunting and startlingly immediate, Nitta Sayuri describes her life as a geisha. Taken from her home at the age of nine, she is sold into slavery to a renowned geisha house. Witness her transformation as you enter a world where appearances are paramount, virginity is auctioned to the highest bidder, women beguile powerful men, and love is scorned as illusion.

Stephanie says: "Best Book in a while"
    "Beautiful Book"

I wanted to read this book when it first came out in print but never got around to having the time. I was delighted to get it in audio. What pleasure, I loved it. I actually listened twice. There were some details I had missed the first time. I hated to see it end and the second listen was even better than the first.
