If you could sum up Eat for Health in three words, what would they be?

Open your mind, not your mouth

What other book might you compare Eat for Health to and why?

Eat to Live is Dr. Fuhrman's earlier book. I prefer Eat for Health because of its' hands on approach. Dr. Fuhrman's explanations are crystal clear. His use of reader's experiences throughout the book made this real.

What does the narrator bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It's Dr. Fuhrman so it's just the good stuff.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The bit about 'toxic hunger' I found to be all too true

    Any additional comments?

Great book! This is book ONE and I found myself buying the complete set after listening to the first few chapters. In this book, Dr. Fuhrman references recipes from book TWO and I was so impressed with this book, I had to buy the set.

It's easy to understand and it's not gimicky at all. Bottom line - eat what God gave us in the state he gave it to us and you cannot go wrong. Here's to our health!

Why we think it’s a great listen: Never before has an author’s narration of his fiction been so important to fully grasping the book’s impact and global implications. Taking us from Afghanistan in the final days of its monarchy to the present, The Kite Runner is the unforgettable story of the friendship between two boys growing up in Kabul. Their intertwined lives, and their fates, reflect the eventual tragedy of the world around them.

    Story
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I really enjoyed listening to this book. The author (and narrator) did an amazing job of writing incredibly vivid and multi-dimensional characters. This story is unique and worthy of a read/listen. The story is engaging, thought provoking and touching. I wish these characters lived on, as they are endearing and memorable. This was a great read.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Kite Runner?

The very end when they go fly a kite. It was the part I was dying to find out if it would materialize. At the end, I wanted it to continue on. I loved these characters and wanted them to triumph out of their tragedy.

"For you, a thousand times over" makes me tear up every time I heard it.

What does Khaled Hosseini bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His accent and prononciation of the character's names and places is something that would have been lost on me if I had only read the book. I felt like he was actually speaking to me, personally, and I was able to lose myself in his world.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

"For you, a thousand times over"

    Any additional comments?

I want more!! This was a great insight into the fighting and culture of Afganistan. The culture is something that is not depicted in American literature and virtually little is revealed in our media as to their sense of honor and pride.
