Karigan G'ladheon is a Green Rider - a seasoned member of the elite messenger corps of King Zachary of Sacoridia. King Zachary sends Karigan and a contingent of Sacoridians beyond the edges of his nation, into the mysterious Blackveil Forest, which has been tainted with dark magic by a twisted immortal spirit named Mornhavon the Black.

    Any additional comments?

I think the story was a good story; however, only the very last part of the book actually took us back to where book four left off. I do not feel that it went very well with the other books in the series - almost like runoff series from a popular televison show. I feel that the first part of this book was 24 hours of filler with only the last 4+ hours actually relating to the story I had been waiting for. Kristen Britain is a fabulous writer - I just feel this book really didn't relate very well to the first four books. Ellen Archer is as always, a fantastic narrator!

The cathedral town of Lafferton seems idyllic, but in many ways it is just like any other place. As part of the same rapidly changing world, it shares the same hopes and fears, and the same kinds of crime, as any number of towns up and down the land. When one day DC Simon Serrailler is called in by Lafferton's new Chief Constable, Kieron Bright, he is met by four plainclothes officers. He is asked to take the lead role in a complex, potentially dangerous undercover operation and must leave town immediately.

What made the experience of listening to The Soul of Discretion the most enjoyable?

I believe Susan Hill is able to draw the reader in with what she writes and Steven Pacey gives it life. As an author she is not afraid of topics often left out for fear of controversy, such as rape, death and dying, etc. I also love the way she doesn't feel obligated to close her books with happy endings for everyone involved, life just doesn't work that way.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Soul of Discretion?

I would love to write something done; however, for two reasons I am unable, 1) I have several memorable moments, and 2) I don't want to give any of the story away - I feel it is that good!

What about Steven Pacey’s performance did you like?

I could listen to Steven Pacey speak for hours! His narration of the Simon series is perfect!

Lisa Jackson's novels of romance and suspense race up the best-seller charts. In Left to Die, the Pinewood County Sheriff 's Department is on the trail of a cold-blooded killer who acts as a savior to women stranded during terrible mountain snowstorms before stripping them of their dignity and leaving them to die, a victim of the elements. But the killer's latest victim managed to escape, leading some to believe there may now be an imposter on the loose.

What did you like best about Left to Die? What did you like least?

I am sure the story is really good; however, I stopped listening because the narrator's style of reading is almost continuous; seemingly without pauses for long periods of time. It is hard to reflect on the story or separate characters in my mind when a story is narrated this way.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Alan Nebelthau?

Richard Ferrone, George Guidall, Simon Vance

Do you think Left to Die needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I am going to buy this series in hardback.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Was The Name of the Wind worth the listening time?

No - not really. I have read many fantasy novels that have kept me enthralled and not able the put the book down; however, this book's endless dialogue on the main character's life at the university helped lose my interest. I have stopped reading this series.

A tale of archetypal heroes and sweeping adventures, of dragons and princes and evil wizards, here is epic fantasy as only Stephen King could envision it.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I do not feel that Bronson Pinchot is very excited in his narration. His unenthusiastic narration made me stop listening - left a lot to be desired.

Would you be willing to try another one of Bronson Pinchot’s performances?

Not if it is like this one.

Did The Eyes of the Dragon inspire you to do anything?

    No
