He's not just any thief. He’s the greatest thief of the age - and he’s also a wizard. And with the help of his partners - a swordsman with the most powerful magic sword in the world but no magical ability of his own, and a demonseed who can step through shadows and punch through walls - he’s going to put his plan into effect. The first step is to increase the size of the bounty on his head, so he’ll need to steal some big things. But he’ll start with somethingsmall. Something like a king....

Bronwyn Soell says: "Entertaining light fantasy"
    "Big gulp of fresh air"

First thing I did after listening to this book was look for the sequel. I admit I'm not a fantasy connoisseur, as this genre is for me a bit of a guilty pleasure. But this story was quite amazing in my view. Eli is a wonderfully built character with a lot of humor, I loved Gin, the massive Ghost Hound, I loved Miranda... It all kept me gasping for air, not wanting to go to sleep and basically wishing those 8 something hours would not finish.

The narration is also very good, fluid and with a little role-play, just the way I like it. Kudos on the book!

Mikhail Dubrinsky is the prince of his people, the Carpathians. But they are dying out, falling prey to vampires or are choosing the soulless life. Mikhail is no longer sure he can bear the bleak future laid before him. The only thing that can add light to his life, can relieve his terrible loneliness, is to find a life mate. But he has given up believing one exists. He vents his centuries-old despair in an anguished cry that fills the waning night. And then, incredibly, a life-saving voice answers him.

"Remember that 'don't judge a book by its cover'?"

...well please do so on this one. Against my better judgement and the crappy artwork on the cover, I bought this book. I thought that I'd give it a chance since I found that lovely books usually hide under crappy covers, especially in the "urban dark fantasy" genre.

This book is a waste, from any point of view you might want to look at it. The characters are stupid, there's no other word for it, the story is not believable...come on, who falls in love with a man and decides to marry him after he clearly has authority issues...and after knowing him for...a day or so?

If I had to suffer through another "little one" I felt I was going to puke. Only my stupid policy of never leaving a book unfinished made me listen until the end. Or maybe just my naive hope that the story will pick up, that something interesting was bound to happen. Well all hope was in vain. I only rated this book one star because I had no other option needed to. But seriously, don't buy it unless you have a masochistic wish to be bored to death...and somewhat annoyed.
