"'You knew they were there, didn't you?' Kahlan asked in a hushed tone as she leaned closer. Against the darkening sky, she could just make out the shapes of three black-tipped races taking to wing, beginning their nightly hunt. That was why he'd stopped. That was what he'd been watching as the rest of them waited in uneasy silence."

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

People who require mass amounts of backstory and boring narrators

Would you recommend Naked Empire to your friends? Why or why not?

No. While it passes the time half the book is backstory and while it is a long series and some is required the author writes each book for someone who hasnt read any of the other books...if it was just the story we kept rehashing it wouldn't be so bad but we also are subjected to constant reviewing of the individual character story as well.....tedious

How could the performance have been better?

Jim bond shouldnt be a narrator....simple as that...he ruins good books...his female is horrible and he can't even do a good wizard...a must in fantasy narration

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disappointment

    Any additional comments?

It passes the time but dont expect to be blown away

In his acclaimed Codex Alera novels, best-selling author Jim Butcher has created a fascinating world in which the powerful forces of nature take physical form. For millennia, the people of Alera have used their unique bond with these elementals for protection. Now, as enemies become allies, and friends become bitter foes, a danger beyond reckoning looms. . . .

What made the experience of listening to Captain's Fury the most enjoyable?

    Well written well read...

Who was your favorite character and why?

Since I haven't read the hard copy my speling of Fidelious is probably wrong but he is the most interesting character in this story....he's betrayed the crown in the first book for what he believed was the best course of action for the stability of the realm and in every book has worked opposite our heros aims but hes not illogical in his opposition and since discovering that our hero is actually an undiscovered heir to the throne his observation of our hero and placement under him in a positon of trust and influence over the heirs survival and image(unbenowst to the young heir) while still under the patronage of lady Aquitaine puts him in the pefect place to either send the realm into civil war or to ally himself again with the crown with no forgiveness and at great personal risk......his decision is the fulcrum of the entire book and Buthcher see-saws us with glee to a conclusion that is unexpected and only partially resolved for the time being.....

Which character – as performed by Kate Reading – was your favorite?

K'tai is well done...a bouncy flirty no nonsense attitude and constant bemusement with the madness in the logic of others around her comes through in kates interpretation.....well read

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Tons of emotion in all the intrique and battle going on....

    Any additional comments?

    Read it

The dreaded Vord - the enemy of Aleran and Cane alike - have spent the last three years laying waste to the Canim homeland. And when the Alerans are cut off from their ships, they find themselves with no choice but to fight shoulder to shoulder if they are to survive.

What did you love best about Princeps' Fury?

Minmal backstory and a well written book

What was one of the most memorable moments of Princeps' Fury?

Moon gives us a great view into the minds of her characters..the depth of emotion and the thought process and logic behind them is vivid, believable, and entertaining....

Which character – as performed by Kate Reading – was your favorite?

Odiana is one of her best performed in the series....while not a major character she gives this one alot of depth.....

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Roman battle wizards and politcal intrigue abound

    Any additional comments?

Well read well written....a good buy if you're a member but 39$ is too much for a book this length if you're not...go be an audiobook junkie like me and the price is right.....

Is there anything you would change about this book?

    Less backstory

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

A most interesting point of morality and self respect was the overall enjoyment of the entire series however the author started flogging the dead horse around book 5 or 6.....

What does Sam Tsoutsouvas bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Sam is one of the best narrators for audible in my opinion..he has much more emotion and gives the characters a more realistic tone than some other narrators.....i wish he had done the entire series..there was 3 or 4 books with a horrible narrator that was flat and uninterested in the story and it showed....besides sam does the best old wizard voice

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    Yes

    Any additional comments?

    Less backstory
