Susan Michaels was once the hottest reporter on the Beltway Beat until a major scandal ruined her life and left her writing stories about alien babies and Elvis sightings. Life as she once knew it is over, or so she thinks until she gets a lead on the biggest story in town: The Seattle Slayer. She heads to the local animal shelter, expecting a tip on the latest rash of killings. Instead, she gets a story about the mayor feeding citizens to a ring of vampires. Yeah, just another day in her life.

    Overall

I realize this is an abridged title, but after having read the hardcover prior to listening to this selection, I can honestly say that there is a huge difference between "abridged" and "butchered." Too much of the story line was left on the cutting room floor! So many aspects of the story are simply not there. A shame to do this to such a popular author as Sherrilyn Kenyon. If I find any more of her work in audible format, I hope they will be unabridged!

One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him. But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation - and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out - Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume - her sweet, filthy fling - to France for the summer and just…play.

Would you consider the audio edition of Sweet Filthy Boy to be better than the print version?

I don't own the print version, so am not capable of answering this question.

I can say that the other reviews of this story are spot on -- very well-written, heart-touching and involving.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ansel, of course! He is written as very sweet, but with a definitely kinky side.

What about Shayna Thibodeaux’s performance did you like?

Her French was pretty good, although some English words were mispronounced. Not enough of a problem to detract from the story, however.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    YES!

    Any additional comments?

This story certainly sucks you in! Well worth the credit and the time to listen.

After Noel Falcon professed his love to the one girl who truly holds his heart in the palm of her hand, he decides to try his damnedest to keep Lane Vance in his life forever this time. There's no way he'll let her slip through his fingers again without a fight. The instant they are together Noel begins to plot a way to ask his headstrong ladylove to be his wife, but every attempt to pop the question is foiled by a string of mishaps that prevents him from getting the job done before he goes back on tour with Black Falcon.

Karen says: "Love the story. Hate the narrator!"

Would you listen to Rock the Band again? Why?

    Heart-tugging story. really enjoyed it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Noel, of course. More heart than should be allowed by law.

Which character – as performed by Allen Steele – was your favorite?

Noel. I think Allen Steele did a remarkable job with this narration. I have to disagree with the other reviewers. Yes, Allen Steele is obviously not a 22-year-old kid, but since I am in my 40's, I appreciated a narrator that was more mature. AND he pronounced Noel's name in the correct masculine form. The female narrator of the previous book in this series did not.

When Charley is rudely awakened in the middle of the night by her best friend who tells her to get dressed quickly and tosses clothes out of the closet at her, she can’t help but wonder what Cookie’s up to. Leather scrunch boots with a floral miniskirt? Together? Seriously? Cookie explains that a friend of hers named Mimi disappeared five days earlier and that she just got a text from her setting up a meet at a coffee shop downtown....

I love this author, and man oh man, did she ever select the right narrator! (At least, one would hope that its the author who has some say in who narrates her hard work.) Lorelei King is completely awesome in her role as Charlie Davidson, and brings such life (pardon the pun, as Charlie is the Grim Reaper) to the story that it literally makes you laugh out loud. (Really, you have no choice -- you MUST laugh out loud!) :) Keep 'em coming, Darynda and Lorelei!

Party organizer Tyler O'Connelli is on the fast track to her dream career. She's so close she can almost taste it. But when she returns to her family and sees her one-night stand, Alex Keller, all done up in his cowboy gear, her self-control is stretched to the breaking point….

Melissa says: "WORST NARRATOR EVER!!! BUT LOVE THIS SERIES...."
"Story: 5 Stars -- Narrator: ZERO!!!"
    Overall

I agree wholeheartedly with the other reviews: I've enjoyed Vicki Lewis Thompson's work for years, but this narrator just ruins it! I realize that it might be asking too much for all narrators to be able to correctly pronounce words like "Shoshone," "Tetons," and even "foreman," but that just did not happen here. Even her cadence in reading sentences aloud is off-putting (meaning: she puts in pauses where there are no commas -- sorta like William Shatner). What truly amazes me is that Zoe Hunter has narrated 22 titles so far. Are they all this badly done? Please, Ms. Hunter... do your research and ask the author how certain words should be pronounced before you go to all the effort of narrating another book.

In the Ichidian Universe, The League and their ruthless assassins rule all. Expertly trained and highly valued, the League Assassins are the backbone of the government. But not even the League is immune to corruption. Command Assassin Nykyrian Quikiades once turned his back on the League - and has been hunted by them ever since.

"Good story -- not so good narrator"
    Overall

While I understand that narrating an audio book, and especially one with challenging vocabulary and characters, can be difficult, at least get the pronunciation right. The narrator seemed to be making up her own ways of pronouncing certain words, and it made the entire story seem cheap and amateurish. Other than that, I did enjoy the story and look forward to other's written by Sherrilyn Kenyon.
