I still can't decide if I like this book or not. It had an interesting story line, funny characters, awful characters and some that you just scratch your head at.
The whole story revolves around Kiernan, Meghan and Avery. Kiernan was taken away from his home by his father when he was 3 to be raised by him and the dark faeries. Avery, his twin brother, was raised by their mother and grandmother, the light faeries. Meghan meets Kiernan on a flight from the US to England and the two start dating. That's when things start to go wrong for Meghan. Meghan goes through capture, torture, escape, love and loss. She makes some new friends along the way while trying to find herself and decide what she wants to study in college.
This one was OK for me. The story was a good one, but I think that the characters could've been written a little better.
I was kind of wishy washy with this book. I found it hard to deal with the dynamics of the relationship between the leading female and all of the brothers! I get it that she was in love with Blake and that she really wanted to be all that she thought he needed. She took classes to make her the best ranchers wife? What? I liked the fact that she went after what she wanted, but was disappointed about how weak the leading male character was.
I really like how this series is starting out. The characters and storyline are well written. Even with all the stuff these New Species characters go through, they still have it in them to love. It's horrible the things that they went through in the labs and the stuff that they are still dealing with when they are "freed". I found myself wanting to be there to destroy the labs and the people that did these awful experiments on these people. I look forward to other books in this series.
This was one of the best books I've listened to! The narrator was fun, engaging and I loved her voice transition from one character to the other. The story itself was WONDERFUL. Guy meets girl, get pissed off when they get married in Vegas and she doesn't remember because she was trashed, they try to make it work, but he has issues......Good start to the book, right? Right! The story line isn't as easy as that though. The characters are well developed and leave you wanting to learn more about them. The insecurities that the characters have make them believable.
Going to get the next book now.....can't wait to see what happens to Mal. :)
This book is a hot, steamy, fast paced menage book. It was well written and easy to follow, the characters were interesting and easy to like. The story line was interesting....A little town in the middle of no where, not a lot of women available. There were multiple family units that had multiple men to one woman and others that were just m/m.
In the second book of the series, Dani comes to help Kenna deal with the mess from NY that followed her to KY. Dani has been following the guys up in NY and sending message to Kenna to warn her that they were coming for her. Dani goes to KY and shows up on Kenna's doorstep. She and Kenna are still in a lot of danger from all the guys in NY and Chad has followed them and is now crazy and trying to kill them both. Mo, the Sheik that lives on the next ranch over is a love interest for Dani while all of this is going on.
Looking forward to the next book because this one left me hanging!!!
This book started out raw. The first sex (rape) scene was described in real detail. The rest of the sex scenes, not so much. I guess that in order to set the tone for the story, it kinda had to be that way.
That being said.......I loved the book. It was engaging and I LOVED the characters. I actually laughed at the Rose sisters ever time they got involved in something. I would laugh out loud at the antics of those 3. I loved the portrayal of the small southern town that protects their own, the town's grapevine and willingness to help a stranger.
Loved this book. Reece comes across as a jerk and a playboy, which he is. However he turns into a pretty great guy once the right girl comes along. The things that he makes Audrey do to get her into his arms are very entertaining. His whole world shifts when he realizes that the one thing he wants, he can't have because she is in love with someone else.
The story is well written and the characters are well developed. The heartache that they each go through is felt through the words that the author wrote. I look forward to reading additional books in the series.
Love, Love, Love this book! It was a refreshing view of how the future could be. The characters are all strong and well written. The storyline is awesome! I found myself rooting for Tris every chance I got! I was sitting on the edge of my seat when it ended. Wondering which way it was going to go.
Can't wait to read the next installment!
I really enjoyed this book! The narrator was fabulous and really made the story come alive. The way that the author wrote the characters had me laughing out loud a lot!
The story is about a woman named Bliss who is trying to win a TV show competition for cards. Her attitude comes out in everyone that she writes (Hallsnark). The male role is played by Drake. He's a fireman with an added bonus of being fire proof because he's a Dragon.
One night Bliss's building catches on fire and Drake is on the scene. After he brings her to safety, she convinces him to go back in and rescue her laptop from her apartment. He does, but gets in trouble for it. While he's on suspension, Bliss drops off one of her Hallsnark cards as a thank you and an apology.
When she takes a job as a part-time cocktail waitress and moves into the apartment above the bar to make ends meet and have a place to live. Drake comes in with flowers for her and gets another Dragon that had her eyes on him jealous. She starts setting fires all around the city so that she can drive everyone crazy and then kidnaps Bliss. Bliss gets rescued by a God and the other Dragon is pissed!
I'm not going to ruin the ending of the book. It made me laugh out loud. I loved Bliss's scene of humor.
