Legends never die....Old friends are reunited and ancient secrets revealed as Kirk, Spock, Picard, Riker, Data, and all of the Federation's best and brightest are enmeshed in a cosmic saga that will test their strengths and loyalties to the very limit. A personal tale of tragedy and triumph that could only have been written - and read - by William Shatner!

I got this book because a friend told me is was great. It thought it was ok, but not great. I think the problem this audiobook has is that is not unabridged.

In John Scalzi's re-imagining of H. Beam Piper's 1962 sci-fi classic Little Fuzzy, written with the full cooperation of the Piper Estate, Jack Holloway works alone for reasons he doesnt care to talk about. Hundreds of miles from ZaraCorps headquarters on planet, 178 light-years from the corporations headquarters on Earth, Jack is content as an independent contractor, prospecting and surveying at his own pace. As for his past, thats not up for discussion.

I got this book because of Wil Wheatons reads of Ready Player One and Red Shirts (other great books). I loved this story and highly suggest reading this. It is a short read and has this recording also has the original Fuzzy story so you get a 2fer.

Linda McKinney is a myrmecologist, a scientist who studies the social structure of ants. Her academic career has left her entirely unprepared for the day her sophisticated research is conscripted by unknown forces to help run an unmanned - and thanks to her research, automated - drone army. Odin is the secretive Special Ops soldier with a unique insight into the faceless enemy who has begun to attack the American homeland with drones programmed to seek, identify, and execute targets.

Madeleine says: "What's that droning sound?"

Daniel Saurez creates a compelling story that is grounded in today's events. Jeff Gurner is a great narrator because you don't feel lost among the characters voices as he narrates. Highly suggest!

  • Ready Player One

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

What did you love best about Ready Player One?

I absolutely loved this story. It did get some mediocre reviews by the critics, but it wasn't written for them. If you love 80's nostalgia (TV, movies, music) and video games, you will love this book.

What other book might you compare Ready Player One to and why?

Daemon. It pretty much starts the same but goes in different directions.

What does Wil Wheaton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He provided geek cred to the story.
