When Jack Mercy died, he left behind a lot of enemies...and a ranch worth nearly $20 million. Now his three daughters - each born of a different marriage, and each unknown to the others - are gathered to hear the reading of the will. The women are shocked to learn that before any of them can inherit, they must live together on the ranch for one year.

    "more violent than expected"
    Overall

The story had some really great qualities that I almost missed due to the graphic violence described which is why I did not rate it high. I was not expecting the violence and almost did not continue the book, until I came up with the idea to fast forward through the violent scenes. I wish I was aware of the nature of the story before purchasing this book.

This enchanting American Girl story collection features the spunky heroine of the critically acclaimed movie Kit Kittredge. It is 1934, and the Great Depression has found the Kittredges. First, Kit's father loses his job, then the family is forced to take in boarders to make ends meet. A spellbinding book, Kit will also help listeners understand a difficult time in American history.

Experience the majestic language of the King James Bible skillfully narrated through the powerful voice of Max McLean. The King James Bible (KJV) was written with oral interpretation in mind. When presented by a gifted narrator, the grandeur of its phrasing and the rich musicality of its rhythms resonate in the ear and mind of the listener.

If you could sum up The Listener's Bible in three words, what would they be?

    Great Study Aid

What about Max McLean’s performance did you like?

His reading does not get in the way of the words. It is pleasant enough to listen to and not overly dramatic as some readings can be.

    Any additional comments?

A series for everyone! This audible version is a great way to add aditional Bible Study.

Award-winning authors Tracie Peterson and Judith Miller launch an enthralling 1890s trilogy set in the St. Lawrence River's opulent Thousand Islands - summer playground of the privileged. A Daughter's Inheritance explores the ever-changing fortunes of 17-year-old Fanny Broadmoor.

Would you listen to Daughter's Inheritance again? Why?

Yes. It was an interesting story with well defined characters. I only wish that the ending felt more like an ending. I now realize there are two more books in the series and hope that they will more completely conclude the main story of this book.

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed the descriptions of the time period and society as well as the characters and their strength.

What about Linda Stephens’s performance did you like?

She did a good job distinguishing the various characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, yet that is not possible in my life.

    Any additional comments?

I look forward to the rest of the trilogy.
