Jamestown like you never thought of it before, a sweeping look at how plants, animals and people change the world and make history. If school taught history as well as this book does i would have loved the class instead of dreading it.
I would because its interesting to see how our garbage can become someone's livelihood and how social ideas on what is appropriate use of objects can change the world
when the Chinese junk merchant was being charming to try and buy the junk to send to China to be sorted and reprocessed
none I liked it just as it was
it would be an interesting documentary
I don't like the new review setup where you make answering the questions mandatory I would prefer ot write my own review and then perhaps be quried
micheal has a good reading voice and since listening is my favorite reading method it works for me
only his other books
yes this book is well worth the read for the new perspective it gave me on weeds
it is just to hard without pictures this is one book that would have really benefited from a pdf readalong file. It also got a bit discounterting to hear over and over "meet the realitives"
still well worth the listen and great information. It could save your life to know not to cook marshmellows on a daphne stick! I think that alone makes it worth getting.
had we heeded Cousteau 30 years ago we wouldnt be in the predicament we are in now. This book chronicals his expoilts and gives us a clear view of the truth of our actions on our environment. I always wondered why the death of this amazing man was hardly covered on the news. Now i know, he spoke the truth and it was inconvenient.
It doesnt really matter where Esther gets her information from, its excellent information, useful, life affirming, and, if you use the techniques mentioned in the book, can bring you a happier life. Who could you ask more from a book?
In my opinion of the Hicks books i have read, this is their best to date.
the author fast reads through this like its a chore and he wants to get it out of the way as quickly as possible. I was so turned off by his delivery that i found it impossible to finish the book. Too bad, because it had some interesting points. My tip to author, next time either take the time to make the reading worthwhile or let somebody else make some money doing a better job.
the piano gets a little grating after a few dozen listens but the message gets through. We have been given so many negative messages getting something this positive into our nerual network is invalueable.
the first part of the book was a little dark but soon bloomed into an intimate sharing of a fabulous adventure. I loved it and learned more of the cultures of the countries the author visited than i could of from any other means. I highly recommend this book. Great fun.
