Where does My Mother Was Nuts rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

As far as comedy based, it was the first and it motivated me to buy more because it was so good.

What other book might you compare My Mother Was Nuts to and why?

Billy Cystals's Stll Foolin' 'Em. Marshal's too was laugh out loud funny but also had some very touching moments as well.. She has a similar positive way of viewing difficult life experiences.

What about Penny Marshall’s performance did you like?

    Her authentic, natural voice.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, when her and her brother funded a dance program/studio at a university bearing her mother's name.

Billy Crystal is 65, and he's not happy about it. With his trademark wit and heart, he outlines the absurdities and challenges that come with growing old, from insomnia to memory loss to leaving dinners with half your meal on your shirt. In humorous chapters like ""Buying the Plot"" and ""Nodding Off,"" Crystal not only catalogues his physical gripes, but offers a road map to his 77 million fellow baby boomers who are arriving at this milestone age with him. He also looks back at the most powerful and memorable moments of his long and storied life, from entertaining his relatives as a kid in Long Beach, Long Island, and his years doing stand-up in the Village, up through his legendary stint at Saturday Night Live, When Harry Met Sally, and his long run as host of the Academy Awards. Listeners get a front-row seat to his one-day career with the New York Yankees (he was the first player to ever ""test positive for Maalox""), his love affair with Sophia Loren, and his enduring friendships with several of his idols, including Mickey Mantle and Muhammad Ali. He lends a light touch to more serious topics like religion (""the aging friends I know have turned to the Holy Trinity: Advil, bourbon, and Prozac""); grandparenting; and, of course, dentistry. As wise and poignant as they are funny, Crystal's reflections are an unforgettable look at an extraordinary life well lived.

Pamela J says: "Growing up with Billy Crystal"
"I love his outlook on life."

If you could sum up Still Foolin' 'Em in three words, what would they be?

    Laughing out loud!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Still Foolin' 'Em?

There are too many but generally his relationship with Mohamed Ali.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

You don't know the half of it!

Based on more than 40 interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.

What did you like best about Steve Jobs? What did you like least?

Most: the details of his personal life prior to and away from work. Least: all the rehashing of conversations/conflicts with co-workers.

Would you be willing to try another book from Walter Isaacson? Why or why not?

Sure, even though this book wasnt for me. I got the feeling that Steve Jobs might have redirected the focus of the book to do a little axe grinding.

Did Dylan Baker do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Sure, but there were too many characters that were unknown to me and they weren't developed and became boring.

Was Steve Jobs worth the listening time?

Not for my taste. I got extremely bored and began skipping chapters after listening to a few minutes.

Louis C.K.'s unique observations of everyday life go way beyond politically incorrect and his views of human behavior are more than hilarious in this stand-up event. Filmed at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee, WI, C.K.'s performance proves he is every bit the title of his special.

What did you like best about Hilarious? What did you like least?

I don't mind raunchy humor or salty language but I couldn't get past his masterbation references.

Did Hilarious inspire you to do anything?

I'm sorry, but hit the stop button.

Like so many of us, award-winning writer Katy Butler always assumed her aging parents would experience healthy, active retirements before dying peacefully at home. Then her father suffered a stroke that left him incapable of easily finishing a sentence or showering without assistance. Her mother was thrust into full-time caregiving, and Katy became one of the 24 million Americans who help care for aging parents. In an effort to correct a minor and non - life threatening heart arrhythmia, doctors outfitted her father with a pacemaker.

Clyde A. Warden Jr. says: "Very relevant story that could be executed better"
    "A must for caregivers!"

If you could sum up Knocking on Heaven's Door in three words, what would they be?

    Beautiful, tragic, and motivating.

What did you like best about this story?

The fine details of the characters, nature, the body, the brain and our healthcare system.

What does Katy Butler bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her voice conveys real emotion: calm, frustration, sadness, guilt, desperation, love, respect, and peace. Also, she made the many medical terms and descriptions easy to understand and visualize. (I would have glossed over them if reading.)

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, after a seven hour drive I wanted to sit in the car just to hear more.
