In The Coming Plague, Laurie Garrett looks deeply into human impact on the environment, and how this could lead to a new danger in the form of deadly viruses.

    Overall

I am listening to the audiobook, "The Coming Plague" and I am only on part 1...but since I used to be a nurse, I love the medical part and so far it is pretty good.

My complaint is that I wish these narrators would learn how to pronounce words correctly...especially when dealing with medical terminology and cities/countries/states.

It's Sierra Leone (lee-ohn)...the e is silent. And it's not Abola...it's EbOla...there is no A..the E and the O are the stong letters. Come on narrators...get it right! Screwing it up, does NOT add to the book!

  • 63 Documents the Government Doesn't Want You to Read

There's the Freedom of Information Act, and then there's Ventura's way. The official spin on numerous government programs is flat-out bull, according to Jesse Ventura. In this incredible collection of actual government documents, Ventura, the ultimate nonpartisan truth-seeker, proves it beyond any doubt. He and Dick Russell walk listeners through 63 of the most incriminating programs to reveal what really happens behind the closed doors.

DoubleLift says: "It's good, as long as you don't listen to it."
"Needs to come with a WARNING for this narrator"
    Overall

Needs to come with a WARNING for this narrator, DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS NARRATOR WHILE DRIVING!!!!!!! My wife woke up and thought I was listening to her Kindle, he can't even pronounce words correctly, the computer voice for the W.O.P.P.E.R. war games computer was easier to understand...

I like Jesse, this is not to berate his book, I just HATE the narrator....

Clancy plunges hero Jack Ryan into nonstop high adventure, as two seemingly unrelated occurrences being a chain of events that will stun the world. Called out of retirement to serve as National Security Advisor to the president, Ryan, with the help of CIA officers John Clark and Domingo Chavez, must prepare the untested president to meet the challenges of a new world order.

    "Debt of Honor"
    Overall

Do NOT listen to this book while driving!!!!!!!!! This is a GREAT book, the narrator sucks, this guy had to be hired to do the computer voice for my Co-Pilot Truck GPS program.

I would have enjoyed Jack Sondericker or Scott Brick as a narrator, a Tom Clancy book deserves better............

From the minds of multi-million selling suspense authors Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker comes House, an epic supernatural thriller that gives a new meaning to the phrase "haunted house". In rural Alabama, two couples find themselves in a fight for survival. Running from a maniac bent on killing them, they flee deep into the woods. They seek refuge in an old house that's been vacated for years, or so they think.

    "Very confusing"
    Overall

I have met Frank Peretti and he is a wonderful man and an awesome author. I love all of his books...except this one. It is confusing and I got lost fairly quickly. Nothing personal Frank, but I didn't care for YOUR narration of the book...the voice of the female voice was irritating and sounded like "a man trying to talk like a woman" which is not believable. A good person to use for multiple voices would be Jack Sondricker who reads the Left Behind Series.
It probably didn't help that this was an abridged version. MAYBE I'll try the unabridged version at a later time. I think I'll "read" the next book before I "listen" to it. I hope the next plot will be better than this one. Sorry!!
