I really enjoy both Steve Berry and Scott Brick, however I found my mind wandering while listening to this one. Normally I'm sad when the books are over, but I was ready to be done with this one. There seemed to be a lot of background or historical information, which is necessary, but maybe this was too much. The action scenes were good, but I didn't find myself on the edge of my seat. It's an okay listen - I'm glad I bought it at the introductory price.
I had heard of the book, noticed that it was made into a movie and never thought about reading or seeing either of them. But then I noticed it on Audible and I figured I would see what all the fuss was about. After listening to this book almost non stop (a girl's gotta sleep I guess) I understood what everyone was talking about...and I had a southern accent for about a week. Any time a listener can feel like they are there in the moment means that the story was beautifully written and the narrators gave a wonderful performance. Definitely a great download!
I'm always very tentative when it comes to purchasing new audiobooks or starting a new series, but good lord I'm glad I downloaded this one! After reading The Hunger Games I thought that Divergent would be "just ok" and "a good copy" and that I'd listen to it and that would be it, but I've listened to it multiple times....and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great audiobook!
I haven't even finished listening to this one yet, but I know I will be disappointed when it's over. I've listened to the entire Percy Jackson series and was prepared to be disappointed with the new "heroes", but I was wrong! The story is wonderful and I found that I was totally intrigued by these new characters. Can't wait for more!
