When a tragic family accident brings Laura Fleming back home to Byerly, North Carolina, the sleuth discovers that her beloved grampaw's fatal fall from a ladder in the old mill was not an accident.

Natalie says: "My favorite cousin is a nice young boy in the KKK!"

I rarely give up on a book. I struggled through four chapters of this stinker before finally throwing in the towel. The story is dull and the narration made me want to stick my fingers in my ears. I'm Southern by the grace of God and I've never heard accents like the one demonstrated by the narrator. Just. Bad.

Sadie Turner is not a control freak, just…orderly. When a cheating spouse topples Sadie’s impeccably tidy world, she packs up her kids for a summer vacation at her aunt’s lake house, hoping to relax, reboot, and pick up the pieces away from men. All men. But eccentric Aunt Dody has other plans: she’s determined to see Sadie have a little fun - with Desmond, the sexy new neighbor. Tall, tanned, muscular - and even great with her kids - Desmond is Sadie’s worst nightmare. He must have a flaw - he’s a man, after all - so Sadie vows to keep her distance. But as summer blazes on, their attraction ignites....

The story itself is okay..not literary genius but okay... however I had to transition over to the written version because the narration on the audio version was so bad. The narrator was over the top dramatic and the voice of the aunt was screechy and cartoonish. If the same narrator performs the next in this series I will skip the audio version.
