If you could sum up The Perks of Being a Wallflower in three words, what would they be?

    Best performance ever!

What does Noah Galvin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I can't even imagine reading this book or hearing it read by any other performer. Noah "owns" this book!

    Any additional comments?

I don't write many reviews because I really don't think I'm a very good book reviewer. So many people write so much better than I do, and all I can do is second what they have to say. But I loved this book and the performance of the reader so much that I felt like I needed to write something. I have listened to many audible books and have enjoyed many of them, but this one is special. That's the best description I can give it really. It has a special place in my heart.

When an infected bolt of cloth carries plague from London to an isolated village, a housemaid named Anna Frith emerges as an unlikely heroine and healer. Through Anna's eyes we follow the story of the fateful year of 1666, as she and her fellow villagers confront the spread of disease and superstition. As death reaches into every household and villagers turn from prayers to murderous witch-hunting, Anna must find the strength to confront the disintegration of her community and the lure of illicit love.

How could the performance have been better?

It could have been done by someone else. The narration was flat, bored, slow and drowsy. 20 minutes into the listen I had to stop.

    Any additional comments?

I know I'm not giving a fair review because I have not listened to the whole book but the narration was so distracting that I could not get into the story. I always listen to the audio samples and at first it was not so bad, but after 20 minutes of the slow pacing and monotonous tone it became unbearable. This is unfortunate because the story itself was well-written. This is just one book that I'll have to read myself I guess.

Would you consider the audio edition of A Dog's Purpose to be better than the print version?

This is one of those great stories that is even better because of the narrator. I highly recommend giving this one a listen.
