Third generation Texas Ranger Tyler Steele is the last of a dying breed - a modern-day cowboy hero living in a world that doesn't quite understand his powerful sense of right and wrong and instinct to defend those who can't defend themselves. Samantha and her daughter, Hope, are on the run from a seemingly inescapable situation. They are in danger, desperate, and alone. Though they are strangers, Ty knows he can help - protecting the innocent is what he does best.

What made the experience of listening to Thunder and Rain the most enjoyable?

I had a hard time working... wasn't for this book! I didn't want to turn it off. The descriptions of everything.. I could just picture everything! Loved the romance and sadness and joy on every page and I really loved the transition between the little girls "Dear God' and "Cowboy"... very sweet. Laughed and cried!

What other book might you compare Thunder and Rain to and why?

Don't have much to compare but will be reading more of his books!

Which character – as performed by Daniel May and Luci Christian Bell – was your favorite?

Cowboy.. gotta say was favorite. Hope... well, who wouldn't love her?

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

BOth.. everything... even put off dinner one night to finish a couple of chapters!

What did you love best about Unwritten?

I was very pleasantly surprised at how quickly I was hooked by this story. I descriptions of where everything was going on and the humor amid all the sadness was great. I would love to read a 'part 2' to this story!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    YEs

    Any additional comments?

The narrator was good but his voice has a low timber. I would have liked it a little louder. Yes, I turned the volume up but it is a tone issue, not a volume issue

  • A Good Dog: The Story of Orson, Who Changed My Life

From the very beginning, Orson was a misfit. Like all border collies, he needed to work. But since there weren't any sheep available for herding in the New Jersey suburbs, Orson instead tried to corral school buses, garbages trucks, and skateboarding kids. So Katz pulled up stakes and moved to a farm in upstate New York. There, Orson improved dramatically - until the day he started nipping people. The nips soon turned to bites, forcing Katz to face an incredibly painful decision.
