Johanna Parker is a terrific narrator on this series. The series, however, has really become mundane. I am not normally a quitter. I read ALL the books in a series. But this was the last of this series I will suffer through.
Nothing interesting happened.
I would have passed on this book... too boring, for even the most die-hard fan!
This series needs to die a quick death!!!
As someone who does a fair amount of "prepping" I found this book to be refreshing. A lot of books focusing of The End Of The World As We Know It usually have such glaring flaws (abundant water, food, shelter, and generators). Not this book. The author covered long term things that I had not considered. This could be used as prepping guide. Pretty good!!!
You can feel the anguish in the narrator's voice when the main character is forced to do things that he wouldn't do in a modern world.
The only negative to me was that the main character though retired military, had too much influence in town decisions and had too much knowledge for someone who wasn't overly prepared. But this was probably necessary to fill in the blanks for someone who has less understanding of what could happen. Overall, though, this is the best thought-out work of fiction for this topic that I have ever read.
