When she arrives at the hall, shaken by an unsettling disturbance that occurred during her travels, she is greeted by the two children now in her care, Isabella and Eustace. There is no adult present to represent her mysterious employer, and the children offer no explanation. Later that night in her room, another terrifying experience further reinforces the sense that something is very wrong. From the moment Eliza rises the following morning, her every step seems dogged by a malign presence that lives within Gaudlin's walls.

The War Between the States may be over for the rest of the country, but not for Kit Weston. Disguised as a boy, she's come to New York City to kill Baron Cain, the man who stands between her and Risen Glory, the South Carolina home she loves. But unknown to Kit, the Yankee war hero is more than her bitterest enemy; he's also her guardian. And he'll be a lot harder to kill than she's figured on.

Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

If you could sum up Doctor Sleep in three words, what would they be?

I always wondered what happened to Danny from the shining. How nice to finally know.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Doctor Sleep?

Finding the connection to the characters.

What does Will Patton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voice really created the characters. I honestly thought it was Stephen King reading to me at first.

Who was the most memorable character of Doctor Sleep and why?

Danny of coarse. Maybe Rose the hat.

    Any additional comments?

This book does not disappoint. It is brilliant from beginning to end.

With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends. Ireland. County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations - and where her destiny awaits.
