Devyn Kell spent his life in service to the League until he learned of the double dealing and backstabbing that was costing innocent people their lives. Refusing to play those politics, he became a Runner - someone who makes sure planets get the weapons, medicine and supplies they need to survive. May the gods have mercy on any who get in his way, because he definitely won't.

I don't know why it took me so long to read these books, but I'm so glad I did. This is a wonderful futuristic series, and well worth the price of the book. I don't like to post spoilers so I don't give away the book plot, but if you like Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series, you will like this one, although they are NOTHING alike. Again, I'm so happy I got into reading/listening to this series, and I'm looking forward to the new release coming out in May I believe.

J.R. Ward is still the best! Her Black Dagger Brotherhood series can't be bet! She has given us a whole new world with this vampire series. There is no other like them, although Lara Adrian's Midnight Bred warriors come pretty close. This story brings the vampires brothers iAm and Trez to the forefront , and gives more insight into their background. I was not disappointed with the story, but wished it had been longer in order to be brought up to speed with a few of the other characters. I did feel let down with how the book ends. Only because I have so long to wait for the next installment! J. R. write faster!!!!!! Definitely worth the credit!

This is the continuing story of the Highlanders series. I liked that both the male and female leads were strong and well developed. The story line grew at a nice pace, and did not leave me feeling board. There was just the right amount of action and just the right amount of discord between our main characters. Yes, I think this book was wroth a credit, and I will continue to read/listen to the next installment if there is one.

    Story

Story line was good, and should keep you interested to the end. Good amount of action, and you identify with the hero. There is, as always, someone in the story you will find yourself wanting to kill. We do get our HEA by the end and you will be glad of it. There is abusive behavior that I found myself unable to except, but that to worked itself out by the end of the book. I am looking forward to the next installment of this series.

This book has turned out to be the best in the series so far! Story was well written, and proves to have the best plot. I found the female lead character to be a little "flighty" , but, she also turned out to be strong. If you're into reading a series, you will enjoy these books. This one is wroth the credit!

    Story

This story was just a little more entertaining than the last book. I was able to get into the story quickly, and it kept my attention. As always we had the two main characters going through the "Oh! I misunderstood what you wanted, and needed from me!" thing. I continued with the listen just to see how they would resolve their issues.. The narrator is pretty good, although, I hate the whinny voice she used in the first book. This performance was much better. Overall, each book has been wroth a credit if you enjoy shifter romance books.

Would you try another book from Jennifer Ashley and/or Cris Dukehart?

I will always listen, buy, and read most anything Jennifer Ashley writes, and Cris Dukehart is one of the best narrators around.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

This story, in my opinion, was just too short. I would have loved to have more information concerning the rouge shifters at the end. It just seemed that when the story got exciting, it was over! Yes I know, that's so you are set up for the next book, but it left me feeling loss.

    Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was hearing that the guardian shifter had been trying to help his wolves to live free, and that he had saved the young cubs.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

We only got a small glimpse at the love, (sex), between our two main characters, that's what we look for in these books. I felt like they never really got to connect with each other. Their story was over just when it seemed to began.

    Any additional comments?

I will be waiting to hear what happens next! Overall it was a good story line, so I gave it three stars. Just too short, so three stars. Cris always does well, so five stars.

Not only is Raphael di Santori grateful for his life being saved, he would also like to thank his rescuer very intimately - more intimately than decorum allows. Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend this book to a friend only if I knew he/she was looking for horny vampires. I would not recommend this book if they are looking for a story line to follow.

Would you be willing to try another book from Tina Folsom? Why or why not?

Because I prefer to know the end of a story, I would probably get the next book. If it does not get better that will be the end of this series for me.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I have no favorite scenes as yet.

Was Venice Vampyr worth the listening time?

This has been a kind of disappointment for me. Why? Because Ms Folsom lost the plot along the way. She has a good story line to follow with developing the fight between the vampires and the vampire killers, but this part of the story get's dropped for most of the book. It would be so much more interesting if she would concentrate on this battle as well as the sex life of the vampires.

    Any additional comments?

Like I said, I'll get the next book in the series just to see if the story line develops into something substantial, but if it doesn't, I'm over this series. Eric G. Dove is one of the better narrators here on audible.
