A bit hard to get into, but the story improves quckly and the narrator does a good job of selling the story with her art. She only misses one accent, but it was a small part and easy to overlook. I enjoyed the story and will be downloading the next one.
I just finished the 1st book, (and the free Hospital story) and on to the next in the series. A good book, well narrated and worth the credit.
I got this book based on recommendations, most were good, and on the whole, I agree with them. Story: decent, Narrator: pretty good, Wow Factor: mild-medium. My favorite part of a good zombie novel is the beginning... how, why, what.... not as strong here as I'd hoped, but not bad. You wont waste a credit. It's worth listening too.
The story here was good, the characters defined, if a bit predictable. Sterling wraps up the story and lets you know there's more to the overall saga. The narrator was a bit flat. Sometimes really good, other times, just meh. Not very good at strong emotions or "yelling". I found myself wishing for a strong narrator like Renee Raudman (Kate Daniels - best series ever!) or Tavia Gilbert (Night Huntress - 2nd fav series).. but she did ok, and didn't ruin the story, which, as I said, was good. I'll move on to the next book.
Frank-specific, this is another solid story added to the overall storyline. Cant wait for the next one! Love the narrator and he story - excellent series!
I was so happy to see the latest edition to the Kate Daniels world has arrived! This is my all-time favorite series! If you've been following Kate and the pack, you will have to get this book, you know you will - and you will not be disappointed! If you're stumbling upon this book looking for a great series, you've found it.. just go back to book one and set aside a week of straight listening! I usually listen to each new book twice, once to eagerly hear whats happening next and the second time around to absorb all the details and put the pieces together. And the narrator? Oh, she is sooo good! LOVE LOVE LOVE this book - it stacks up with the rest!
This is an awesome series! If your looking for an excellent start to a great story, you've found it here! The narrator is amazing, sometimes it seems like a different person speaking, he's so good - and he nails each characters personality perfectly. Great start to a great series, this book has likable characters that you learn more about as the series progresses. You care about them and want to know more, which, to me, is what a good story is all about.
I got this book based on reviews... and made a good choice! The narrator is entertaining and the story is fun and new. I like all the characters and bought the second book right away after this was finished. If your looking for something a bit different but still want to stay in the "magical" realm, this series might be the right fit for you!
Same group, new character focus and a good story. If you liked the first book, you'll like this one too.
A fun, quirky, well-read story that doesn't take itself too seriously. Just what I needed at the moment, I bought the other 2 books and enjoyed them too. No deep moral lessons here, just a light-hearted good story. Definitely worth your credit and your time.
story is cliche', characters are too stereotypical, I dont care what happens to main characters... I love Kat & Bones, Kate Daniels, Jane Yellowrock... This is not in the same category for me... You may enjoy it, I made it through so I wasn't terrible, just not terrific.
