I laughed so hard at this book. The reader reminded me at times of South Park characters and personally found that hysterical. When I finished with this book I borrowed J. Halpern's first novel from my library and listened to it twice in a row it was so funny.
I listened to the first book and felt the adolescent story was interesting, but I should have stopped there.
I really enjoyed this novel. The readers were all exceptional. The writing was beautiful and created a clear image, while invoking emotion. Its a heart breaking story, with a very feminine perspective. I definitely cried while listening, I really loved characters, but with how tragic the story is I would not suggest it to everyone.
I enjoyed this book. It has a unique storyline and the theme was something I feel strongly about. I did however feel more interested in the first half of the book, by the second half I got a little bored. But I was committed enough to want to finish it.
I felt that the characters were uninteresting and the story line was predictable. There were a few moments in the beginning of the store that I thought were particularly moving though.
I really enjoyed the imagery; the author creates a very vibrant world without color pallet. The story is illusive and keeps you interested the whole way through. This is one of my favorite books to recommend people to read. I have trouble imagining anyone who wouldn't enjoy this story.
