Seriously, the plot was way too "Scooby Doo" for me, and the narrative could be excruciatingly repetitive. The author goes over and over with the same information, and it was just all too cheesy and ridiculous for me. No thanks.
Good job with the content, but again slightly cheesy.
A different narration & Editing...This talent has narrated other stories (Pendergast) stories and I felt like I was listening to that series. I liken the narration to listening to Ron Burgundy from Anchorman...ridiculous. The story was good but needed editing, the last two and a half hours could have been left out. I hate to be negative but I just could not finish the book it was so painful.
He was a mis-cast...no idea on alternatives
Yes, I liked the bulk of the actual story, the last few chapters could have been simply edited out.
I listened for hours hoping to get something unexpected out of the story. Sad, troubled characters but no complexity or anything that really makes us care about them. I could not finish the book, towards the end the book became too ridiculous to even bear.
Not sure, content was hard to overlook.
I could not listen to the book any longer-I wanted to get my moneys worth but in the end it was just to boring. Narration slow and irritating.
Listen to "Where'd you go Bernadette?" again.
Kathleen Wilhoite brought this story to life, so funny and fantastic, I just started re-listning versus starting another book. Highly recommend.
Narrator and Story
Her voice and characters
I did NOT read the summary or any descriptions about the plot in advance, just listened to the book so had NO idea about where the story was taking me which made it an awesome, shocking and gripping adventure. I think the narrator did an amazing job, not sure if he is the reason, or the book itself is the reason it is by far my favorite listen so far.
He IS the character, amazing work and talent!!!
None for me thanks!
