After a slow summer of chasing low-level skips for her cousin Vinnie's bail bonds agency, Stephanie Plum finally lands an assignment that could put her checkbook back in the black. Geoffrey Cubbin, facing trial for embezzling millions from Trenton's premier assisted-living facility, has mysteriously vanished from the hospital after an emergency appendectomy. Now it's on Stephanie to track down the con man. Unfortunately, Cubbin has disappeared without a trace, a witness, or his money-hungry wife. Rumors are stirring that he must have had help with the daring escape...or that maybe he never made it out of his room alive.

What did you love best about Notorious Nineteen?

I have been reading JE's books for a few years now. If you've never read one, you should definitely start with the first one. And pay no attention to the movie.. Although they tried to do a good job, this is the kind of book series that a movie can never duplicate. Evanovich has created this set of amazing, fun characters, who you will become attached to and want to find out more about, Her story lines are great--and include alot of comedy. This is probably the only series of mystery books where I have actually laughed out loud multiple times. And the narrator, Lorelei King is also great, and I think has narrated all of JE's books. She does great different voices, and makes the story come to life. I promise you will not be disappointed with ANY if her Stephanie Plum books. I cant say the same for some of JE's other series she started writing--those are a little fluffy for me. But you can't go wrong with a Stephanie Plum novel.

Would you listen to Her Royal Spyness again? Why?

This is the first time I've ever read or listened to anything by this author and I liked it alot!
I love strong, female heroines, especially ones that go against the social norm. It reminds me of the saying: "Women who behave rarely make history." This was a fun storyline, and I learned about England in the early 1900's; especially about class status and working norms. I would definitely recommend, and I would listen to one of her books again.

Two dead bodies changed the course of my life that fall. One of them I knew and the other I'd never laid eyes on until I saw him in the morgue. The first was a local PI of suspect reputation. He'd been gunned down near the beach at Santa Teresa. It looked like a robbery gone bad. The other was on the beach six weeks later. He'd been sleeping rough. Probably homeless. No identification. A slip of paper with Millhone's name and number was in his pants pocket. The coroner asked her to come to the morgue to see if she could ID him.

Where does W Is for Wasted rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Any Sue Grafton book is worth your time if you enjoy detailed, storylines and plots that make you think. Kinsey Millhone is an amazing heroine-especially since she is female--she is brave, intelligent, determined and persistence. She is a more serious version of Stephanie Plum perhaps. Sue Grafton keeps her books in the timeline she originally started--so I think this book takes place in the late 80's? Its funny, because you're always thinking --oh today she could just go online and look that up, instead of going to the library and looking at old phone books. Judy Kaye is also an amazing narrator, and (to my knowledge) performed all of Sue's books. They make a great team, and Sue Grafton is one of my top 10 mystery writers, on par with Lawrence Block. (I think he is the king :)) If you've never read any of her books before, I would recommend you read them in order, as the characters are all more fully developed over time, and it makes for a better reading/listening experience all around.

Would you consider the audio edition of On Target to be better than the print version?

The audio edition is always better than the print edition when you have a good narrator. And especially when you find the right narrator, and use he/she consistently through the series. The Gray Man novels are no exception--an intense and believable storyline combined with a talented narrator, make for a great listening experience. These novels are on par with the Jack Reacher series for sure. I've listened to them all, and I can't wait for the next one. Thanks Mark Greaney and Jay Snyder!

For Dr. David Beck, the loss was shattering. And every day for the past eight years, he has relived the horror of what happened. The gleaming lake. The pale moonlight. The piercing screams. The night his wife was taken. The last night he saw her alive. But now a message has appeared on his computer, a phrase only he and his wife know. What made the experience of listening to Tell No One the most enjoyable?

I don't know how Harlen Coben does it. He has written ALOT of books--and they all have different characters and take place in different settings. But his ability to build a storyline is amazing. His plots are intricate, but not so complicated you get lost. His books keep you totally engaged--like you'll sit in your driveway to finish listening to a chapter. He also keeps things realistic--sometimes a little dark, but he usually finishes his story with realism and an ending you're content with. He is definitely one of my top 10 authors, up there with Lawrence Block, Walter Mosley and Otto Penzler. And Scott Brick is a great narrator who performs all of his books.

The Curtlees are a powerful force in San Francisco, unscrupulous billionaires who’ve lined every important pocket in the Bay Area in pursuit of their own ascent. So when the family’s heir, Ro Curtlee, was convicted of rape and murder a decade ago, the fallout for those who helped to bring him to justice was swift and uncompromising. The jury foreman was fired from his job and blacklisted in his industry. The lead prosecutor was pushed off the fast track, her dreams of becoming district attorney dashed.

What did you love best about Damage?

I love John Lescroart's books because he has this awesome set of characters, and each of his books focuses on different ones. But all of the characters are friends, or part of each others's lives and always involved. So you learn a little but about all of them. This storyline was pretty good, not as good as some of his others. But, I still was very engaged all the way through. I'd definitely recommend.
