Wings of Shadow was a very intriguing and interesting listen. The story kept my interest and caught my full attention.
The Iron Fae, Wings of Majesty, The Sound of Wings
I loved all of the characters she performed
Was not planned that way, but once I started listening, I could not stop. Everything else just had to come second until this book was finished.
Waiting for the sequel, can't wait!
The narrator Katherine Kellgren did an excellent job. I was afraid to listen to the audiobook at first since I am a big fan of Jane Austen. But I am happy to say that after listening I was delightfully surprised the book was kept to most of the Jane Austen tradition. Now with that being said, the book is also quite a different story from the original. Yes, all of the original characters are there, but after listening, you will never view the original Jane Austen novel the same way again. This was actually a fun and entertaining listen with quite a few funny parts. The audiobook was very good, I recommend. Give it a listen. Enjoy!
Hmm, that would be a hard one to be honest. I remember growing up and reading Sense and Sensibility, so many fond memories. But listening to the audio edition does bring the characters to life and off the page. The narrator did a marvelous job.
The characters, all of them!
She brings the characters to life and makes them real.
Every Jane Austen book has those reactions in them.
Out of all of the Jane Austen titles, this one would have to be my favorite. From the movie, to the novel, and now the audio book, I can never get enough of these delightful characters. In my opinion, Jane Austen was one of the best authors of her time, and in my heart still continues to be today.
The narrator, Wanda McCaddon did a marvelous job in keeping with the tradition and spirit of the theme of the book. Her voice was a great pleasure to listen to. This was an audiobook listen that I recommend highly.
What could be better than a variety of Sci-FY stories told and narrated by several talented and outstanding voices the industry has to offer? Getting them all together for several hours of ear candy listening delight! Several hard science fiction tales are told by narrators that are true storytellers that weave you thru different worlds of imagination, heart pounding action, suspense; you name it, it’s all here. Start a journey through the outer reaches of space, and past the boundaries of the imagination. This is an excellent listen that won’t disappoint!
I have not read the print edition, but in my opinion the audiobook gives you something that you can not get from the print edition.
Alex Hyde-White as always does a marvelous job. His characters are believable and emotions are right on Que. He allows the voices he creates to come alive, and in doing so, a well told story becomes an excellent adventure in listening.
Anyone looking for a great action novel, this is it. This is an audiobook that will definitely keep your interest. A dystopian feel, with a political influence; kind of like the Hunger Games. Excellent listen, thrills, chills and suspense. Great plot line; the evil against good, where good must prevail. Great listen that will keep the imagination working. Recommend highly!
I have not read the print edition.
They did well with the voices of each character to help the story become an excellent listening experience.
The storytelling was solid, just as good as Steelheart. For a short listen, the audiobook was packed with action, fantasy. This was a listen that left me wanting more.
The narrator did a great job.
It was short enough that I was able to.
I was not sure what to expect when I found this little gem, and I am glad that I did as it was an entertaining listen. Note: this is a zombie story, but that being said, the story came together very well for a great listen.
A well written story, each character well outlined. The author wrote the book in such a way that the story was able to be told in a way as to bring the listener into the world of Holmes. The narrator, Alex Hyde-White with his gifted and talented voice brought the characters off of the page, and into a three dimensional mix that allowed the characters to dance thru the imagination and bring you along on Holmes and Watson's travels. This made for a good story. Give the audiobook a listen and begin your travels with Holmes. You won't be disappointed.
In the true spirit of the Twilight Zone atmosphere, Ray Bradbury weaves a tale that is both entertaining, and wickedly enthralling. To revisit childhood, The Playground touches on the worst and horrific parts of childhood, and also lends as a reminder to those innocent and carefree moments. For those who continue to say, "I wish I was a child again, how I would do things differently," this book is for you. A great little listen, the narrator, Jonathan Davis does a superb job.
The history behind it and the Gettysburg Address reading at the end.
This was a reading and a lesson in history, so there was not really per say a character. This was more of a telling of the characters who played a part in history, and the shaping of our country.
Brother against brother, the civil war was one of the bloodiest wars fought. With the loss of life on both sides, the war was a personal one. For it was a war fought on our own lands against our own neighbors. The audiobook touches on Gettysburg, and why after all of these years, it still holds meaning, its importance and significance, and of course the Gettysburg Address. The narrators, Mark Boyett and Kevin Pariseau did a fantastic job. The audiobook is an interesting and telling listen.
Always chasing after an elixir to prolong the life; always hoping to extend the life and escape the inevitable death. This story holds true to that age old conquest. But it also holds a valuable moral. Be careful when asking for what you wish for, you may not be prepared for what you receive. The audiobook will hold you to your seat thru the very last chapter. The narrator, Whitney Webster, does a masterfully and skillful job of treating each character with a uniqueness to allow the story to take on a life that is both suspenseful and riveting with her talent. This is an audiobook listening experience not to be missed.
