Bahzell is no knight in shining armor, and besides he has too many problems of his own to be messing with anybody else's problems - let alone the War God's. Unfortunately, the War God has other ideas for him.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Had someone such as Simon Vance, Michael Page or Roy Dotrice narrated this book, it would probably make this book better than a dud.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I'm running out of choices in the Epic Fantasy genre.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Overly dramatic. Very dry. The guy sounds like a narrator for a 1950's educational film for high school students. His style almost reminds me of William Shatner.

What character would you cut from Oath of Swords?

    The author and narrator.

    Any additional comments?

From the reviews, I thought there would be witty banter between the main character and his sidekick, but it was pale compared to the characters in Michael J. Sullivan';s books. I was expecting some exciting combat, but compared to Joe Abercrombie, the scenes are lame. Rothfus, Jordan, Abercrombie, Martin, Sullivan and Lynch are unbeatable in this genre. I suppose the positive reviews were from younger, easier to please readers.
