Sure, Partials may not be an instant classic, but it's undeniably brilliant. Intriguing characters, witty dialogue, and great plot. Honestly, I don't understand how people could have managed not to enjoy it :]
After reading some excellent reviews of it, I was expecting a lot from this novel, yet it ended up being incredibly awful. Narration was bad, Ms. K. M. Guest attempted, in vain, to do a few too many accents. The characters were bland, boring, and utterly predictable. Even the plot couldn't save it, letting it spiral downward.
Before downloading it, I told myself I'd pace it out so I'd have a month worth of story... Ha. That totally didn't work :) Instead, I ended up listening to 5 of the 7 hours of it at once. Though it may not be an example of literary excellence, it's not bad either. I wasn't a huge fan of the narration, especially the woman's voice, but the story and plot were gripping enough to waste my Saturday for. Definitely worth a download.
