Google Executive Chairman and ex-CEO Eric Schmidt and former SVP of Products Jonathan Rosenberg came to Google over a decade ago as proven technology executives. At the time, the company was already well-known for doing things differently, reflecting the visionary - and frequently contrarian - principles of founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin. If Eric and Jonathan were going to succeed, they realized they would have to relearn everything they thought they knew about management and business.

Dave says: "An excellent and thought provoking book."
    "Superficial, glib puff piece."

Superficial, glib puff piece. And such a waste of time and money. What a disappointment!

Why we think it’s a great listen: A performance so poignant, we gave Bronson Pinchot (yes, Balki from Perfect Strangers) our inaugural Narrator of the Year award.... In the monsoon season of 1968-69 at a fire support base called Matterhorn, located in the remote mountains of Vietnam, a young and ambitious Marine lieutenant wants to command a company to further his civilian political ambitions. But two people stand in his way.

    Zachary says: "Matterhorn"
    "Excellent narration"
    Overall

You don't need me to tell you that this is a great book. That is already well known.

So just a few words about the narration: it was amazing. Matterhorn is a good example of how it is possible to create an even better experience through narration.

One enemy spy knows the secret of the Allies' greatest deception, a brilliant aristocrat and ruthless assassin - code name: "The Needle" - who holds the key to the ultimate Nazi victory.

Daniel Mcafee says: "Just OK by Follett Standards"
    "Predictable and silly"
    Overall

This is predictable and nonsensical. Good narration of a boring story.

Joe Allston is a retired literary agent who is, in his own words, "killing time before time gets around to killing me." His parents and his only son are long dead, leaving him with neither ancestors nor descendants, tradition nor ties. His job, trafficking the talent of others, had not been his choice. He passes through life as a spectator. But a postcard from a friend causes him to return to the journals of a trip he had taken years before.

Pamela says: "Maybe it's a case of timing..."
    "outstanding narration"
    Overall

The narration was great; book was very engrossing, but denouement a bit disappointing for me.
