The characters lack believability, the dialog can be pretty silly in spots, and the plot is far fetched. If you are willing to let all that go, though, this book is fun. The narration was good and the story had enough hooks to make me want to know what the big mystery was. In the end, I really wanted to see the bad guy die and the good guys win.
Honestly, not a book I could look back at and say it was great, but I did enjoy it for what it was--entertaiment on an otherwise monotonous day.
I've been a big Nikki Giovanni fan since I was in high school. While I find her remarkably interesting, insightful, and down to earth, I was really hoping that there would be more of her poetry included in the interview. The one piece that Brian Lamb read, he butchered, and the one piece she read, she didn't read all of.
