From best-selling author Anne Rice, writing as A.N. Roquleaure, in the traditional folktale of "Sleeping Beauty", the spell cast upon the lovely young princess and everyone in her castle can only be broken by the kiss of a prince. It is an ancient story, one that originally emerged from and still deeply disturbs the mind's unconscious. Now Anne Rice's retelling of the Beauty story probes the unspoken implications of this lush, suggestive tale by exploring its undeniable connection to sexual desire. Here the prince reawakens Beauty, not with a kiss, but with sexual initiation.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Although this book isn't for me, if you're into porn with no real storyline, you might enjoy this book.

What was most disappointing about Anne Rice’s story?

Anne Rice is an amazing storyteller, this book falls short on that point. Don't get me wrong, she writes beautifully scripted sexual fantasies but the story in between the romps is lacking.

What didn’t you like about Samantha Prescott and Corbin Steele ’s performance?

I don't know if it was just the poor writing or if their performance was just bad. They're performance didn't help the story.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty?

I would have had her write something different.

Across a vast panorama of heart-stopping action, Sally Roe flees for her life. Her journey is a penetrating portrayal of our times, and a vivid reminder of the redemptive power of the Cross.

What did you like best about Piercing the Darkness? What did you like least?

I was such a huge fan of This Present Darkness and I thought the follow up would be even better. It's a good story but not as intense as the first. It reads more as leftovers from the book but not it's sloppy seconds. I love that the characters from the first book are a part of the story!

What could Frank Peretti have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

It's hard to say... I guess I would have liked the story to be more of a continuation of the original story.

Which character – as performed by Kevin Foley – was your favorite?

    Tal is always my favorite!

Do you think Piercing the Darkness needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I love Peretti's books about angels & their opponents!
