Clary Fray just wants her life to go back to normal - but that turns out to be impossible. For one thing, her mother is still in the hospital, in a mysterious coma. For another, she and her brother, Jace, have fallen under a cloud of suspicion now that the Shadowhunter world knows that Valentine is still alive - and that Jace and Clary are his son and daughter.

After I finished listening to City of Bones I couldn't wait until book two, City of Ashes was released. To fully appreciate it, I re-listened to book one and then continued straight into book two.

The first thing I noticed is the different narrator, which at first I thought would be an issue, but it wasn't. Natalie Moore did a wonderful job and after only 15 minutes or so I forgot she was a different narrator.

As the adventure continued in this book you find yourself in a world full of thrills, excitement, puzzlement, joy, sadness, love, war, and the want for more. Could there be in the future?

If listening to the book series in order, when you come to this audio book everything gets ruined. The narration is horrible as the narrator cannot properly do all the character voices. She pronounces words very differently which causes problems because you are used to words/names sounded one way and in this book another way entirely. As a listener you get frustrated and suffer through it until you can get to the next book in the series.

The only way to MAYBE enjoy this book is to listen to it as a stand alone or with months between the book before it and the one after so you can forget the usual narrator’s voice.

Therefore I had to give 5 stars for the story which is excellent, however I can only give 1 star for the performance since it was so bad. Overall that equals out to 3 stars, which I feel bad for doing since I love Kim Harrisons books.

When 15-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing, not even a smear of blood, to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

I absolutely loved this audio book...it is very intense and draws you into the story. You feel as though you are traveling on the adventure with the characters. You find yourself thinking as though you were in the book, what’s going to happen now? Can I trust this person? The only down side is now I have to wait till the story continues with the next part of the story in City of Ashes, book two in the series.

I thouroughly enjoyed this book. It was full of a lot of great substories that draw the reader(listener) in and keeps you there. The ideas it brings up gives you food for thought and could be great to discuss with friends.
