    Valuable insight into why somethings take off and others possibly flop. Not sure if "The Tipping Point" is the answer or one of the contributors to why things happen. My experience is that everything is connected to each other in various degrees, but this book sure puts a good case for the authors theories. A little confusing in parts, but the authors voice is easy to listen to. A valuable book for marketing type people. Worth the listen to.

    Lt Richard Sharpe might have come a long way from India, but a fat lot of good it has done him. A Quarter Master in a retreating army that is being harassed to extinction by the enemy. Of course Sharpe gets an opportunity to shine but first he has to win over lost riflemen who would rather kill him than follow him south. This book is great with bad guys, twists and turns and a victorious end to it all. First book I read of the Sharpe series and still my favourite, although Sharpe's Gold is pretty good. Once you get use to Frederick Davidson narration this book is great. He does the voices really well, although the Spanish and French is a little clique. Bernard Cornwell descriptions in this book are spot on and you are transported back to Spain during the winter of 1808 during the Napoleonic Peninsular campaign and you can feel the cold, hunger and shock of battle. It doesn't get much better than this book but it does!

    Not a hard listen too and very similar to Bill Caskey's Podcast. Take the intro advice and listen to this often and in short amounts. It will help you overcome some road blocks to modern selling.

    If you are new to sales, this book is excellent, if you are in the game and need some direction, then this book is gold. Jeffrey doesn't mince words but he does tell you how it is and how it can be. He paces out this book nicely and his style is unique and entertaining. One point he makes is to have fun and that is my kind of advice I like to hear. Who said work can't be fun. He is good and I think this book will make you good at your type of sales. Not a book of 'if you believe you can' or the new sales is all about finding yourself but rather a good slant on the whole business of what sales is about and what you need to work at to make it work for you. Good book, great man.

    Art Markman makes it so clear how to think better to solve problems, innovate, and get things done solo or in groups that this book is a must. Not pop psychology and not long and boring. If you just take away the concepts on smart habits you are a winner baby.
    Do yourself a favour and listen to this book slowly. Learn from it and take the concepts into your own realm you will profit straight away.

    At first I thought this story 'sucks'. Then it started to get interesting. Richard Fenton's voice is a little annoying but no more than normal people. The story moves along quiet nicely and it is only about 90 minutes long so not hard for the commute home. The basic premiss is:
    If you push your prospect till they say no then perhaps you have done all you should of. This might take hundreds of cold call rejections but you will not get to the yes unless you go through the no's. If you are in a sales and the client saids yes, don't just shut up, push a little harder to get much more. Not bad sales sense but you still have to go through being rejected.
    Get over it and get on with getting those no's.

    I have fallen into sales. I didn't want to do it and now I am one. Well I am reading, practicing and listening to everything on sales to help change my mind and achieve my goals. I have not at this stage done that. I thought this book would help and it did, but there are better books for that. This book gives you the idea to get organised, become professional and stop letting things happen by chance. More about focusing and doing your business with direction and purpose.

    Don't get me wrong by my title, this is an excellent book. Full of twists and turns and action to boot. You wonder how Sharpe's career has ended up in the quartermasters store with his contacts and abilities but there you go, the British Army wasn't a meritocracy.
    It is a pity that this series didn't move into a ruthless spy story set in the period, but Sharpe is no 007. He is good at killing and has a knack of staying alive even when he hasn't a clue what is going on.
    The villains are good in this book, the people he meets real although at times a little formulatic and of course Sharpe's technical abilities like shooting or dirty fighting are excellent. This is one of Bernard Cornwell's great stories. Could be as it was written well after the series was started but it slides in very nicely. I believe the next in the series is Sharpe's Rifles, which got me hooked on the series well before this book was ever written.
    Now the only problem is Patrick Tull. He is excellent reading the story and fantastic with the accents but, Richard Sharpe's voice sounds like a grumpy old man. Could be I like the other narrators or Sean Beans voice, but Patrick Tull does Sharpe no favours.
    One other thing, don't ever get the abridge version of these books, not worth it and too much is cut out. Well worth the 12 hours listening to this one.

    Network marketing or how to alienate your friends and family. Tap dance your way to social ridicule as you try to entice your prey into your web of 'buy'. Not happy with this book but I do agree with one premiss; use stories but make the stories real, yours and relevant. Using fairytales or made-up stories of being on a tropical island is wrong and very unprofessional. Personally I am against network marketing and think it is a crock of sh*%. But if you are into it, give this book a go but stay away from me.
