"Bone Crossed"
WOW!!!!!! My Wife has read all of these books and has wanted me to read them, but I haven't had the time, yet finally the audiobooks have been aviable if it is only the 3rd book I believe in the series and I'm Hook, I love the flow of the storyline, the character interaction is awesome, a very refreshing listen!!!!!!! I will be listening more to Patricia, and hopefully Lorelie is doing the reading!!! BIG HUGS AND KISSES!!!!!!!
"Good story even with the gaps."
Yes! The story was intriguing and well written, but felt like there was something left out in the middle.
Josh, although I feel he could have played alittle stronger character in the ending.
It was well read, but the narrator got abit monotonal at times.
"Wish it was not an abridged version."
Read it back in the 90's and loved the whole storyline.
Disappointed because of the abrigdement.
Richard's reading was excellent, I hope he will read an unabridged version.
"The Fall: Book Two of the strain trilogy"
An Excellent follow up to the first book, questions were answered and new ones arose, I was disappointed that Ron Pearlman did not follow up with this book, he made the first a 5 star listen.
"The High King of Montival"
S.M. continues with his usual overwriting of what is an Awesome and intriguing storyline, this chapter starts with an exciting and well written battle and he then slips back into his gastro and clothing expose' with mind numbing description. I have continued listening because I like the story concept eventhou the delivery is getting more and more tedious, the narrator's use of the many different accents at times is just plain irritating with the thickness he is trying to achieve is hurting the story. If the story continues at this rate it will be clear into book 10-11. Help me out S.M. your loosing me.
"The Strain"
Outstanding! Was expecting the typical 'Vampire' tale, eventho the 'Vampires' shared some of the blood-sucking characteristics as the hybrid/mutations in "Blade 2" which was a 'Guillermo' film, Ron Pearlman's narration was AWESOME as was his role in the before mentioned film, also there were other character/storyline simularities, it has been one of the best listens in a last few books :) Can't wait for the next one!
"Under the Dome"
A great listen, even if a bit long and Stephen is at the top of his writing game when adding main characters that are truly inspiring and other main characters that you want dead after the first 10 minutes of meeting them. The cast is extensive yet entertaining and not overly boring in their introduction, history, and interaction. A return to his pre-accident story-telling that seemed to be lacking in his last 'Gunslinger' volumnes and the 'Lisey/Duma' stories. If Stephen keeps writing in this manner I will continue to be an even more loyal Fan!
"The Sword of the Lady"
Yet another plodding, over descriptive, and far to drawn out story. S.M. has taken a really cool story concept and stretched it to a point I don't think I can continue listening, even thou when the action is happening it's a wonderful story, but when the mention of food comes into the story it's a 20 minute ordeal just to get back to the flow of the story. The character interaction is at times frustrating, and the introduction of new members to quest is abrupt and with a lack of info that he holds in such high regard for the food. I usually do not listen to abridged versions of a story, but I will take that into consideration if I continue to follow this 'Saga'.
"A Darkness Forged in Fire"
Yet another wife inspired listen, I am not sure of the existentance of a pre-story, although it seems to go into very little detail other than the 'Iron Elves' were screwed over.
A decent listen, although I really liked the Dwarf Yimt Arkhorn I will continue with the series.
"The Prodigal Mage"
A great story if you cut all of the arguments out, actually the repetition of the arguments made me think 'is she just rewriting each chapter and throwing a paragraph or two of the actual stroy in to make it a new chapter.' BTW if 'Asher' was such a Hard-Ass/Bad-Ass, I don't see how! From the story I think there maybe a Prequel stroyline that maybe interesting, but if it is as argumentative as this one, dont't waste your time. This was a 'Try-out' for a new audiobook series, and I'll say it was a crapper of an audition!!!!!not gonna ruin it for anyone, but if you like people arguing most all the time, this is your book, although the ending was some what intriguing, I will not continue with this series!!!
