Great story, but the overlapping voices were difficult to keep track of at times. Got a little slow in the middle, but all around a great epic sci-fi tale.
Very slow and boring, with a long drawn out plot that was extremely predictable. After listening to Foundation, I was very disappointed by this sequel.
Larry Niven is amazing, his stories are like crack to me, I can't believe I only discovered him last year. I found a discarded copy of A World Out of Time, picked it up out of curiosity, and couldn't put it down. Tom Parker does an great job with character voices, not too over the top cheezey, but diverse enough to make things interesting. I'm just finished listening to The Protector (also excellent, though I would listen to Ringworld first) and am about to listen to both of them, as well as the second Ringworld book, over again because they were so good.
I'm an educator, as well as someone who has struggled with many of the emotional imbalances that Dr. Ratey talks about in his book. It was so exciting to hear all the scientific evidence that he has gathered on this topic. If you are someone who finds logical arguments very motivating, but have always had trouble convincing yourself to sacrifice time in your busy schedule for exercise, you need to listen to this book. I have already recommended it to 3 of my closest friends. It will change the way you think about learning, medicine, and happiness.
